Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Aroma is dough, barnyard, sweet flowers/fruits and some hops. Taste is dough, malts, some caramel malts and finishes off bitter and slightly metallic. Overall a robust, fresh, flowery yet malty lager.

En fantastisk lager med beska i min smak. Härligt guldgul med fast skum. Många smaker i en trevlig kombination. En klar favorit.

A good lager, strong hopflavours from the dryhoping. Its fresh, not very exciting flavourwise, but a well made beer with more taste than usually from a lager.

Pours a gold amber with a white fizzy head that is quick to dissipate, but if you pour to fast it gets foamy. Smells of yeast hops and malted barley with visibly fizz in the glass. Well made lager in that it takes the elements hitting you with hops and then finishes with the light, pale malt. Yeast is prominent and makes it taste not as bland as some others, does have a creamy mouth and serious carbonation. One of the best for it’s style. As compared to say Yuengling, (which I was drinking last night) the focus is much more on the hops and yeast while the pale malt is in the background. The pale malt is much more prominent in most lagers. I thought this was almost like an IPA when i was new to different beers but now I see how it fits in to it’s bland genre. One of the best in a category which doesn’t have much special to offer.

This is Brooklyn’s flagship beer. It’s a golden copper that offers a sweet caramel aroma. It manages a nice malty taste. The aroma for this is much more appealing that the actual taste.

35.5 cl bottle. Served in DBF 2004 sample glass. Dark gold. OK head. Fresh, hoppy aroma. The taste is dry and hoppy with a slight fruitiness. Easy to drink.

On Tummits tap At Summitt’s Wayside Taven during the Brooklyn Brewing Tasting...Nice full body for a Lager...Plenty of caramel malts to this one...Lcking a bit in some hop characters but maybe not for the style...Definite session brew
