Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

(12 ounce bottle - pint glass) Pours a amber color with a large frothy head. Has a thick lace too. Aroma consists of caramel malt balanced with a floral hop quality. Tastes of light to medium bitterness and light sweetness. Medium to full body, oily texture, light carbonation and great finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden amber color and very clean and clear. Nice creamy white head that dissipated slowly. Ring, with wonderful lace that left the surface covered in a thin layer of foam the whole way down to the bottom. Clean bitter hop taste to start, fading into sweet fruity flavors - such as peach - then finishing with roasted malt flavors. Dry, clean finish. Nice medium body. Balanced. Pleasant carbonation that makes it refreshing. A very solid lager. Definitely not the best lager around, but my favorite so far - taking into consideration value and quality.

Bottle. Pours translucent bubbly copper with a thin white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is leafy english hops, apple and pear esters, honey-biscuit malt. Flavor is honey, pear, apple cider, biscuit, subtle maple wood and raisin character, undertones of caramel and chocolate, and a soft hop presence. Overall complexity is very subtle. I’m tempted to say its like a pear cider with a bready aftertaste. Palate is light being a lager, there is a somewhat carbonated bite but overall very smooth. A very good lager.

Amber pour with nice off white head, slight lacing. Bready nose with some floral/herbal/grassy hop shining through. Flavor is big on the noble hops, mild citrus, bread crust on the finish. Smooth medium body. Very drinkable and much better than their ales.

Pours a nice clear amber with persistent white head. Some floating particles (yeast?) are visible. Herbal and floral aroma. Taste is malty and light bitter, with long bitter aftertaste. Very light body, easy drinking.

This beer pours a sweet reddish amber color, and leaves a thin white head that disappates quickly. The smell is very malty with caramel aspects that give hints of honey and lemon. The taste of this lager is crisp and refreshing the sticky sweet malt weighs on your palate in a good way and there is a lemon wheat flavor on the palate that makes this a balanced refreshing brew to drink all day def session quality.
