COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2003 Clear amber with medium of-white head. The aroma is sweet, floral, some bready. Taste is medium sweet, floral, some tart. Finish is light grassy and floral. Mild bitterness. Has a medium body -- readily drinkable, and a real delight. Great lager for an anti-lager person.

12 oz bottle-pours a deep off white creamy head that stays around, then laces nicely while drinking. Color is amber. Taste is creamy, with the hops coming through.

Golden color, small but steady white head. Flowery, fruity nose. Extremely well-balanced malt and hop character. Feels more like pils than lager (what this Vienna means here?). Flowery, hoppy, world class brew.

Pours dark amber with little head. Aroma is very hoppy, though yet it has a spicy quality to it. This expands to the taste, where spices and a flowery feeling add to the hoppy bitterness...

Warning! Early amateur rating! Amber lagerish beer. Full bodied. Lingering bitter aftertaste - hard work. Average.

Clear amber beer, small off white head. Crisp palate, dry. Minerals. Creamy rich pale malt, lagerish of course! Decent mild hops,=. Dry finish with a bitterish aftertaste. Decent lager after all!

What a nice surprise! This is a pale lager disguised as an ale - and very well so. Nice head and a rather dark golden color and the aroma has notes of fruit/aroma hops. The flavour has floral and fruity notes with notes of caramel and a nice hoppy bitterness in the long finish. A very nice lager indeed.
