Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Decent brew with a moderate amount of hops, some body and certainly a solid take on the style. If pricing has a part to play, this is also a plus...

- Look: Copper - Nose: Hint of toffee; tiny hint of roast coffee grounds. - Body: Nice amount of hop upfront, then mild lager malt. - Finish: crisp but not-too-dramatic English-bitter style end. Slightly more herbal than Brooklyn East India Pale Ale. - Decent, non-too-dramatic, copper brew that is possibly more Viennese or English bitter than evocative of Brooklyn, let alone lager! Nice #1001Beers

Color naranja oscuro, con poca espuma. Aroma a cebada. Sabor en donde predomina la malta, con un pequeño toque amargo al final. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Best commercial lager in the world. Lager is probably the worst type of beer, but this one is more like IPA ora APA. Darker colour than any other lager in the world, red dark orange gold. Small light beige top. Nice taste, bitter finish. Also nicely carbonate. I do not know why it is called Vienna lager, because it is really good American type of beer. Sometimes Americans think that Eu name is something more precious.
