COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

The aroma is grainy, gassy. I was caught by surprise thinking it would be a light brew. The color is amber. There was a 1 finger head that dissipated and covered glass in nice, froth lace. Taste is hoppy, carmel, and slightly sweet. low malt. Tastes alot like a samuel adams boston lager, but much better.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Amber lagerish beer. Full bodied. Lingering bitter aftertaste - hard work. Average.

Clear amber beer, small off white head. Crisp palate, dry. Minerals. Creamy rich pale malt, lagerish of course! Decent mild hops,=. Dry finish with a bitterish aftertaste. Decent lager after all!

Amber colored pour. Slightly caramel malty flavor and very light hops make a very drinkable easy drinker. Nothing great but not bad either.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours dark brownish golden with a frothy off-white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet with caramel, light bread, ripe peaches, wood and orange zest. Taste is malty, slightly sweet, slightly bitter and slightly metallic with dark bread, some sweet dried fruits, lemon peal, grass and wood. Mouthfeel is slightly watery and rather heavy on the carbonation. Finish is dry, slightly sour and bitter with bread and lemon peal.

Pours a nice goldfish orange. Aroma is lots of bitter hops, floral and a decent malty backbone. Smells more like a decent ipa than a lager. Taste is alright. Crisp, hoppy, floral and bread. Maybe a little citrus. Mouthfeel is a little watery. Not my type of beer but it’s alright. Can’t say anything bad about it. Nothing too special though.
