Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Orange/yellow gold coloring. Minimal head. Aroma is sweet floral. Medium hops on the tongue to start. Then smooth and some burn at the end. Body is mild, with some hops at the beginning and end and some minor sweetness in the aftertaste. It starts strong and then weakens a bit and the nose seems more complex than the taste.

This lager has a cloudy golden to amber appearance with mild floral aroma, small white head, moderate hops are present with a strong grapefruit flavor in the taste. Smooth going down with a carbonation bite at the end. Nice Lager, I enjoyed it better than the pilsner.

08.25.04 12oz bottle. Reddish amber pour with fine head. Some flowery aromas are surprising along with a more comfortable biscuity and lemongrass nose. Flavors are subdued, flitting atop a slightly sweet cardboardy front and a floral perfume that lingers in the throat and nose. Not at all what I expected, not totally swell. Better choice at this particualr bar than duds like Stella, Newcastle, Smithwicks, etc.

Bright orange in colour with big creamy head. Big hoppy flavour, is more of an english bitter. Is an interesting interpretation of and English beer and has done a bad job.

12 oz bottle-pours a deep off white creamy head that stays around, then laces nicely while drinking. Color is amber. Taste is creamy, with the hops coming through.

Bottled, pasteurised, Wetherspoons World of Beer Promo. Deep amber colour, white head, not over carbonated. Surprisingly decent beer, heady fragrant hops with a good chunky dry malt body. Long finishing late hops, a very enjoyable beer.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2006 IT was another Lager in the festival, but it was not discusting as most macro lagers, I liked it so far, but it was mor elike a light Pilsener. Like El Salvador’s.

Clearish honey color. Smells like crisp apples. Fruity undertones. Good foamy head. Nothing special really, but good to drink if you don’t want to think about the beer you are drinking. It had an apple Jolly Rancher taste with no apple flavor if that makes any kind of sense at all.

Found this in Kyoto. Pours deep orage gold with a big white head, disipating quickly but decent lacing. Nose of grassy hops and a sweet herb/mint and flowers. Somewhat soapy flavour, good balance of hops and earth and tangerine malts. Tart and some cream. Sort of Odd. Bottle is only a month old but may have not travelled well. Sitting under those bright lights might have added some stale bread flavours.
