Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Bottle. Copper brown pour with a small white head. Aroma and taste is toasted sweet malts with light floral hops. Palate is smooth and drinkable with just the right amount of carbonation. Uncomplicated but well crafted and very sessionable.

pour rich golden with a decent but collapsing foam, quite active carbonation. The aroma is hoppy with some malty bready notes and this one goes down easily. the flavour is subtle malt with some hop highlights..

Pours copper with a very thin head that leaves just a bit of lacing. I am a fan of the aroma. It’s kind of sweet and unique unfortunately that taste doesn’t really follow suit. It’s pretty well balanced - just very uninteresting to me. A little bit of a hop kick up front and it finishes crisp and smooth. I was slightly disappointed after seeing the great scores this beer receives.

Bottle. A clear medium amber beer, with a large, frothy/fizzy, very lightly lacing, off-white head. The aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread, caramel), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot). The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, long finish with moderate bitterness. Rather hoppy, it roughly tastes like something in the middle of a pure lager and an APA. Drinkable.

Beer pours into a sturdy and respectable head. Light copper colored and easy to drink. Not complex, but a well-balanced beer and one that you would expect to be this good that claims to be pre-prohibition. Overall, tastes like a well made Marzen or Oktoberfest.

355ml bottle. Clear copper body, small beige head. Resinous aroma, sweet floral tones, malt, citrus. Sour taste upfront that lingers into some moderate hop bitterness, biscuit, malt, lime and lemon zest.
