Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

0.33l bottle poured in a Pokal. A: Nice clear amber color with a 1 to 2 fingers foamy head. S: Fresh Hops (grassy perfume) and malts basically. T: Hops and toasted malts. Bit of citrus. Bit of caramel. Quite refreshing. M: Bitter "hoppy" start with a soft and clean end. Medium carbonation. Light body. D: High. Quite refreshing beer. Quite good Lager. Good quality as the other Brooklyns I’ve had. [ BA Review @ 2/19/2010 ]

Schön malzig würzig. Bitter im Abgang. Passt sehr gut zu italienischem Essen wie Pasta und Pizza. Sehr rundes Lager ohne zu Platt zu sein.

Pours a deep gold with a decent head that quickly dissipates. Light and fresh aromas of: caramel, grass, dough, cooked vegetables, and vanilla. Perfectly balanced flavor with a finish that nods to bitter. An excellent lager.

Nice amber coloured lager. Nice and hoppy. Light bodied lager. Pretty good for what is probably the grandfather of the craft beer movement.

Very fizzy and quite sharp on the palate. Slight caramel aroma and a very clear appearance but too lagerish for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber color with a fairly big off-white head that dissipates slow, leaving some lacings. Aroma is big on malty flavours, bread, butterscotch, marzipan and butter, also a fine citrusy hoppy tone hoovering above. Taste starts big and bold, big malty flavours with a nice balance of citrus and flowery hops, albeit the taste becomes thinner towards the end, ending slight bitter. Medium body, medium to soft carbo. Would love to try this super fresh from a keg.

"nice delicate balance of floral and citrus hops with a touch of biscuity malt. light and airy, this is a very nice session beer. looks typical for the style, but smell & flavor well above average."

Bottle from Waitrose. Irn Bru colour. Just makes it over the bland line by a tiny margin. Its modicum of flavour belying the 5.7% strength. Barley sugar and emptiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
