COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

On tap at a Brooklyn sports bar. A very, very nice lager here. In my opinion, this is superior to the "flagship" Yuengling Lager. Pours copper with nice head and tastes like a lager should - malty but not too heavy. Taste of caramel and almonds (light). Nose is of resin with a hint of citrus.Very well done here.

This lager poured a medium amber colour with an off white, frothy head. A little lacing. Scents include lite spruce hops, cereal, dough and citrus. First sip was smooth with medium carbonation and a nice malt flavour. Other flavours of lemon citrus, bread and cereal. Light hop flavour with citrus lingering on the palette.

33 cl. Pours a medium dense off-white head, amber and slighlty cloudy. Smells quite aromatic: caramel, tosted, malty, and with that typical citrus american hops note. Tastes caramel, orange, citrus, herbs; quite sweet and malty at the beginning, reveals a quite smooth hoppy character, with low to medium biscuity bitterness. Average carbonation, light bodied, dry finish. One of the best lagers/commercial craft I usually find the supermarket, has a pretty decent quality overall

355ml bottle Apperance: A nice amber with low off-white head, with a good retenion, leaving n minor lacing spots Aroma: Grass, Light Grapefruit, caramellised malts, biscuit, tones. Taste: Starts with grass and orange zest, caramellised malts a light sourness, with a night little floral fruity hoppy bitterness. thin body, average carbonation. Starts with caramel and finishes with anlight little bitterness fruity and floral hoppy tones. One of the best bers I had in this style.

Alengrin (2186) - BELGIUM - OCT 25, 2014
Classic Vienna lager from New York apparently made to a pre-Prohibition era recipe. Pours a warm and pretty orange blonde colour, clear with very quiet sparkling on tiny bubbles, under a creamy, dense, yellowish, quite stable head leaving attractive lacing. Aroma is on the weak side and mostly reveals American hoppiness, with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, caramelly malts, walnuts, biscuit, tobacco and perhaps a faint hint of iron. Smooth, slick palate with medium carbonation, soft onset of dried fruits and caramelly malts, nuttier in the middle, finishing in a citrus peel-like, somewhat peppery hop bitterness of relative length, through which the slightly toasted maltiness shows up as well. This style seems the bottom-fermented equivalent of the English pale ales and bitters, and this one is very true to it. Nothing extraordinary, just plain enjoyable. Could drink this all night.
