COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Gold, very hazy, very good and thick head. Aroma is unmistakable Belgian with the taste having light spice and citrus to it, yet clean. Lots of carbonation and the finish has a bit of bitterness. A really good beer I can’t believe I have never had it until just now.

This is an incredibly awesome beer with a little age on it. The pour is bright golden yellow with a thick sustainable white head. The aroma is foremost spicy and citrus fruity. Tons of fruity esters and a lite Belgian yeast combined with allspice and cloves and a hint of banana. The middle is sweet, bready toffee malt and sweet fruity spice. The finish has a predominant finish of alcohol and a sweet citrus spice. A very drinkable 9+ % abv brew that quenches my thirst and makes me want more.

Bottle: Yellow color, creamy white head. Very flowerly nose (lily of the valley, violets, lilac), wheat. Flavor is wheaty, fizzy, flowerly. Light bitter, dry finish. Very nice, flowerly beer.

Pour is hazy golden blonde with a finger-wide bone-white head. Aroma is of yeast, bread, toast, lemons, and grass/earth. Taste is heavier on the fruit notes with some sweet vanilla/caramel thrown in. Slight booze finish with hints of spices throughout.

A hazed blonde with a thin white head. In aroma, orange pulp, coriander, wood extract, quite nice. In mouth, a classic Belgian ale with creamy malt, coriander, curacao, light mineral notes. On tap at Boston Beer Summit, April 16 2011.

Bottle, shared with the "United Norwegian Beer Bloggers’ Table" @ Brooklyn Brewery tasting in Oslo, May 2010. Clear orange, medium pearly white head. Aroma is floral yeasty tones, hints of molasses and green apple. Not too prominent. Taste is much better: smooth floral tones with molasses complimented by some dry, semi-sour bitter touches which again balanced out with a bitter, hay/grass-like finish. I like the integration of flavors here, it’s really difficult to differentiate between the components as everything seems to be one big chunk of taste. A nice golden Belgian, all in all.
