Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Spicy, estery complex Belgian Tripple-like aroma. Grassy (in a good way) light hay, mild apples, pears, and pepper all exquisitely balanced. Bracing finish with blast of delicate bitterness. Absolutely masterful, as near to perfection as can be.

Hazy blond color with bottom-of-the-bottle gunk which I always drink! Solid body and big head. Fine Belgian flavor of spicy yeast!

Tasting at a beerfest [Disclaimer: This was tasted along with many, many other beers during a tasting at Julios. Some of the details are a little hazy]. Excellent example of this style that I found to be quite tasty.

15-May-2009 Bottle at Ølfestivalen poured by Garett Oliver himself. Light slightly hazy with white head. Tripple-ish with lots of yeast and very creamy. Slightly sweet and alcohol is well integrated.
