Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bottle. Medium high fluffy white head. Hazy yellow body. Barley malt aroma with fruity and spicy notes. Fruity and mildly spiced flavor without much hops bitterness but it is not exactly sweet. Alcohol well hidden. Low carbonation, long aftertaste.

aroma of bready yeast and light but succinct floral hops. appearance is of a cloudy belgian golden ale, standard but always striking. flavor is of sharp hops and sticky yeast that hangs on the palate after the sip. palate is spritzy and well carb’d. overall a very solid ale, a ’poor man’s chouffe’.

Bottle. Golden pour with a large off white frothy head. Aroma of barnyard, bananas, and yeast. Full bodied taste of honey, sourdough, dark fruit and spices with a great full finish that lingers with some alcohol.

750 ml bottle. Pours a murky honey golden gray with a thick creamy white head. Lots of lacing. Peppery aroma with hints of cloves, bananas and yeast. Taste is spicy with hints of pepper, cloves, banana and yeast. Very nicely balanced.

750 ml bottle. Pours pure golden in color with a huge, pure white head. The aroma is sweet, fruity, yet zesty. It has a smooth, creamy but light body. The flavor profile is a well balanced mix of spice, cloves, citrus, yeasty dough, sweet honey, and ripe fruit. Another great beer from Garrett Oliver.

750ml Bottle – Trade - Daknole
Aroma: Big Belgian aroma with a great citrus aromas lingering.
Appearance: Golden yellow in color, hazy with a fluffy head.
Flavor: Huge Belgian flavor with cloves and spices added and the citrus was very apparent in the brew. Big brew you can tell.
Palate: Dry Belgian fruity finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: One of the better Belgian ales I have had in a long time. They took there time and put out a great product.

A duvel clone with a full body, spicy nose, sweet taste with yeast. Slightly bitter finish. The fancy bottle and the ingredients don’t hide the fact that this is just a copy belgian, far less interesting than for example what port brewing is doing with their lost abbeys. I’d love to try something good from the brewery but there is nothing available near me.
