COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Decisamente si nota l’amore del mastro birraio per il Belgio. Alcune bottiglie da me provate non erano proprio in perfetta forma.

Malty aroma, nice straw yellow color, translucent through a pint glass. Tastes very balanced and pleasant although the taste dissipates from your palate quicker than I thought a strong ale would. The overall beer is very drinkable and is easily enjoyed. I am only a quarter bottle down but I can tell this big bottle will pack a punch. Another great birthday bottle, thanks again Erick!

Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a large bubbly white head. Aroma is noticeably strong on the Belgian yeast, citrus, and peppery spices. Flavor is well-balanced. Slightly sweet and citrusy but has a late bitterness to balance. Palate is complex and unique. Seriously recommended.

Very good - equal to some of the best Belgians. I took the cage off after letting the bottle sit outside the fridge to come to temperature. Then I got a little surprise as the cork gave a good pop and the bottle did a little gusher. Pours with a huge foamy, frothy, cream colored head that quickly settles to a small, but persistant cover and some lace. Color is a clear amber with some small bubble trails. Aroma is yeasty, malt, bread dough, grass, and a little fruit. Flavor is a little on the dry side at first and then yields to a mild sweetness; like the nose, and does go great with a variety of foods. Body is soft and carbonation is robust and a good match for the beer. Finish has duration, is like the flavor, and leaves a sense of satisfaction. Well done. Maybe not a session beer though.

Botle. Light gold pour with lots and lots of frothy white head. Aroma is quite herbal, lots of rosemary, different flowers, belgian yeast, grains, etc. Taste is just a tad sweet, lots of herbal flavors, some spicy yeast. Good belgian palate, sparkling with a crisp, dry finish.

Sample at GABF on 9-18-2010. Comes a pale gold with a large white head. Aroma of spice, citrus and caramel malt. Tastes a bit sweet with some fruit, spices and yeast. Quite a nice experience.

pour out very pale producing a lot of carbonation that made a frohy thick head that was and off white color an partially slow to fall. the body is a hazy light orange with some bubble rising from the center. the aromas are yeasty and grassy with some pine and low pale malt profile also present. it is medium bodied and pretty balanced with a nice sweetness in the finish. it finishes very clean and has a really light aftertaste that was not offensive at all on the palate.
