Nice white head with tiny bubbles which collapsed in a few minutes. Spicy aroma, with citrus, grapefruit, orange. and clove. Spicy notes immediately in the taste, with some citrus before a light hops bitterness in the finish. Has a drying effect on the finish in the mouth. oh6gdx (8840), Vasa, Finland

Clear orange color, small steady white head, some lace. Soapy, dish cleanser lemony aroma with some apricot notes. Apricot fruity flavor, a bit sugary, fizzy carbonation. Quite light palate for 9 % beer. Mild spices in the finish. Very Belgian (instead of American) and "clean", but not very personal strong ale. a10555 (124), West Chester, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Bottle that my dad picked up for me at Bitter Virtue, Southampton, Hants, consumed 09-01-09. Pours golden with a nice white head. Wow this is fantastically Belgian, wonderful spicy nose but also nice and clean and crisp tasting as well, very well defined. Nice and tangy in the right places, bit fruity, good warmth from the alcohol, sweet but not cloying decent soft carbonation. Excellent beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2009 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Bottle from NYbeer, thanks Steven! Poured a lightly hazy yellow color with a thick white head that left some nice rings of lacing. Aroma consists of spicy clove, some light phenolic (bandaid) notes, fruit (banana, orange, tangerine), and a soft yeastiness. Dry, lightly funky entry with some soft breadiness and hints of wheat and phenols lead into a juicy fruitiness that includes pineapple, tangerine, and banana with some clove spice that is dried out by a dusty yeastiness and a light earthy, flowery hoppiness on the finish. Decent mouthfeel that begins a bit watery but then dries out nicely. Overall, an enjoyable beer hat I wouldn’t mind having around to drink on certain occasions. Thanks again Steven.
