COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

750 ml bottle @ home. Rated @ 22.3.2009.
Golden yellow/orange colour with a medium-sized frothy head. Pleasant aroma of fruits, citrus, Belgian-style yeast with grass notes. The taste of spices, flowers, hops, citrus and yeast - all in a good balance. Medium bodied, oily to slicky mouthfeel and decent carbonation. Nice brew.

Large bottle. Pours a hazy light orange with relatively thin white head. Aroma is fresh and hoppy. Some citrusy fruits on the nose, including apricots. Taste is mild sweetness with some of the fruitiness coming through. Frothy carbonation, alcohol content comes through on initial sip but is significantly muted afterwards. Subtle finish.

Good beer...nice belgian yeast notes and good mouthfeel. High alcohol shows through a bit too much....definitely hot on the back.

Pours a slightly hazed light-golden hue into the glass, with a 4-finger foam head that reduces to a nice cap leaving soapy window-wash lacing. The nose is of yeast and citric fruits. Flavors are similar, of yeast, wheat, alcohol, sharp unripened berries, with a slightly alcoholic, diacetyl buttery finish. The body is round, with a semi-complex mouthfeel that resolves into a smooth, creamy palate. Very well integrated and substantive, it may not be my favorite style, but it certainly is appreciated for the genre offering.

A nice, golden, cloudy pour with a thick foamy head and a load of carbonation. A nice Belgian wheat style, with a thick, sweet citrus taste. It’s pretty good, but a little too sweet to drink more than a pint in one sitting.

750 ml bottle from Brilbeck’s (Syracuse), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 25AU10?

App.: Cloudy light amber with a full, loose white foam. Aroma: Lots of honey, a bit floral, light citrus, dusty minerals, quite fruity, mainly peaches, passion fruit, a bit buttery?, oranges, some yeast, decent. Palate: Medium body, full, velvety, elegant effervescence. Flav.: Fruity, tropical fruits, honey, still kind of buttery?, a touch floral, tangerines, some caramel, a bit of alcohol, still some dusty minerals, a little coriander, a little yeast quite sweet but not cloying, some alcohol and a wee touch of brightness with sweet, fruity honey to finish.

Beautifully crafted. I didn’t love it, but I can appreciate the work that went into creating it.

hazy yellow pour with a pillowy white head that lasts forever. nose is belgian yeast, oranges, spices (cinnamon perhaps?), dried fruits, coriander, hint of musk and earth. nice thickness, flavor coats the mouth with yeast up front, sweet in the middle, dried fruits in the finish and slight spices in the after.
