COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

This beer was cold when opened. Not too much aroma, due to temp. As it warmed, it developed a nice banana, yeast, fruit, aroma. This has potential! The appearance is a nice hazy yellow, with a lingering three finger head...due to the vigorous pour. Head stayed for a while and then the aroma picked up as it warmed. This was a very understated beer. Nice flavors, nice appearance, nice aroma.....all in all good. The 9% creeps up on you though, so watch out. Great carbonation and mouthfeel. Perfect...not to thick or too thin. Overall, a must for the collection.

bomber. pours a golden slightly hazy color. aroma: pineapple, honey, tea, hops, and booze. taste: citrus up front( cant figure out what it is mixed between banana and pineapple), then some nice textured flavor from the hops that coat the mouth with good carbonation, nice savory flavors towards the end that cover up the booze, dry finish with carb that tickles the tounge throughout.

For starters, watch out when you open this one!!! I opened it pretty to very cold and it gushed all over the joint! When I finally got it in the glass, it showed a clear golden body with a slightly copperish hue. Descent white head that fades to a thin layer that is fueled by the abundance of tiny, quickly rising carbonation bubbles. The aroma is quite pleasing cloves, some wheatyness, some cereal malt, a hint of sour green apples, and some Belgian-yeasty esters. The flavor is a bit different. Less spicy (though it certainly has some spice to it) and more fruity. The alcohol is very well hidden. The flavor, overall, is very smooth and mellow and follows through with a vanilla/oak smooth finish. Very sparkling medium body with lots of prickly carbonation. I am not a fan of such highly carbonated beers, but it is certainly to style (I simply swirl the beer a bit until the carbonation goes down). Overall: this is hardly my favorite style, but Brooklyn really produced a solid beer here.

Serving: 750 ml. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg.
It pours a hazy brownish gold with a sizeable pillowy white head. Nice head retention and spotty lacing left behind. The nose is spicy with notes of yeast, a bit of fruit, and dust. As this beer was over a year old, I wasn’t expectly much in the way of hops, and not surprisingly, I didn’t find much with the first sip. A bit of age didn’t do this brew any disservice though. The flavor was well rounded with nice Belgian yeast notes, a bit of peppery spiciness, some light fruit notes, and a bit of dustiness. Really quite enjoyable. Medium bodied, although coming across as a bit lighter than that due to the relatively high carbonation. A medium, slightly sweet finish. Really an enjoyable brew and a well done tribute to the Belgian style. I think I may have to get myself another one of these!

I’ve had this several times now and it never dissapoints. This is a big, yellow beer! Flavor is complex, and alcohol is nicely masked. Well balanced and highly drinkable.

Bottle at the hotel in NYC. Pours a hazy orange body with a large white head. Aroma is sugar, candy, yeast, spice, some citrus. Flavor is candy sugar, caramel, spices, citrus and ripe fruit and notes of alcohol. Good beer.

Not a great beer at all, not terrible, I wouldnt buy it again. I was expecting substantially more. Fairly bland and boring, Local 2 > 1
