Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white froth. Fruity Belgian yeast and hop aroma, sweet with some coriander. Lightly sweet fruity upfront taste, the yeast and candi sugar provide all of the character, finishing chalky orange bitter. A tiny bit sour with some funk. Very light bodied with soft sparkling carbonation. A nice beer that leaves some to be desired.

Damn Good. This was my fourth beer at beerfest. My notes are a little hoppy but super smooth. Hats off to the Local 1.

Pours cloudy gold. slightly leaning to orange with a medium-high white head, lasting a while. Aroma is pungent and tough to pinpoint. Definitely some orange, maybe coriander, sourdough bread, honey, hay, chardonnay, grass. Tastes fairly sweet at first, lots of similar notes from the aroma like grass, honey, old oranges, sourdough, and pilsner malt grassy-sweet taste. Finishes with white wine-like acidity, with the citrus turning bitter, and the grassy hay qualities becoming toastier. Nice mouthfeel too, not too highly carbonated, but effortless, and not hot. Real easy to drink, especially at warmer temperatures where the aroma is a bit less odd. Good!

Cloudy golden color with a white head. Nice yeasty fruity estery aroma. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. A great flavor starts lightly sweet with honey, then drys out some mid way with spices, yeast and grainy pale malts. Finish is semi dry with spices and alcohol. Everything falls together just so in this beer, and for me, nothing beats a dry Belgian Tripel. Very good beer here.

Pours a nice golden color. Thin white head, and champagne-like carbonation. Aroma is citrus and spice, grapefruit maybe. Palate is light and fizzy, but the flavors don’t lack because of it, if anything the palate makes me want to drink more to be able to accurately describe what just danced over my tongue. at 9% and in a 750 mL bottle, shouldn’t have more than one though.

Batch 2977. Pours with a largish, foamy, off-white head that sticks to the top of the beer and the sides of the glass. Murky yellow body with a couple really small particles. Aroma is grassy hops, yeasty spiceymeess, some fruit (I get a couple of blueberries even), corriander, sugar and a bit of banana esters. Taste is yeasty, sweet a bit toasty, and a bit of fruityineess. Bubbles are a bit lively that leads to a bit of dry mouthfeel. Noticable alcohol warming.
