COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Large bottle (cheers Will!) 18th Jan 2010, with tashi & co at home. Hazy light gold with a white persistent head. Delicate honey and fruit sugar/lychee nose. Flavourwise, it’s dry, slightly spicy & peppery, citrus. I wish I had not had to share this bottle!

750ml bottle. Pours hazy golden with nice, long lasting white head and Champaign like carbonation. Brady, yeasty, fruity (banana and pear) aroma . Full, crisp body. Venous fruit, bready malt balanced by a good amount of spicy hops fill the mouth. Long dry finish. Another great, complex beer from Brooklyn.

Rather opaque orange body with a fluffy white head. Sweet doughy aroma with citrus and a little banana and slight barnyard. Light and slightly sweet flavor with an earthy body and some notes of resin. Tartness is in the background. Mouth feel is smooth and medium in body. Finishes off lightly but continues the tasty yeasty character.

75cl bottle. Pours very seductive blonde, with semi-permanent pristine white head. Citrus and sweet hops on the nose, with similar on the palate with pleasant yeasty overtones and little real sharpness. A very decent ale.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2010 A lovely beer. The color is a rich yellow-gold and the head lasts longer than some marriages. Once that’s past, there is a rich nose redolent of citrus and spice. It starts drinking very dry, almost like a pale ale, but softens on the finish into a rich, malty, and substantial close. There’s a good deal of yeast flavor from the bottle-conditioning (all hail bottle-conditioned beers) and an almost Zen-like elegance on the close.

75 cl bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange wit a thin, somewhat lacey and creamy head. The aroma is sweetish malty, caramelly and spicy. Spicy yeast, coriander, orange peel, maybe apricot. The flavor is medium bitter, slightly alcoholic and somehow artificially caramelly. Finishes slightly bitter. Something in between of blonde and tripel. Quite soft palate, low carboantion and sticky in the finish. Not the most diverse beer but quite enjoyable and well made beer.

750ml Bottle. Yellow orange body with nice, long lasting white head. Sweet, floral, and orange with some spice on the nose. Spice with nice carbonation combined with sweetness in a medium body. Some bitterness with relatively complex finish. Very nice.
