Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Not your typical Belgian strong, this looks and tastes more like a Hefe-Weizen with less spice and more kick. Aroma and taste of bananas and cloves. Interesting, different and a pretty good beer.

Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy light gold with a thin white head, very champagne like pour. Aroma of fruit and spices, very belgian like, yeast, cloves. Flavor is more of the same, heavy on the clove, some apple peel, a little dry in the finish, could’ve been drier. Nice carbonation. Good stuff.

Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of orange, other citrus, orange peel, other mild fruity esters in the area of maybe banana or peach, slightly restrained Belgian-yeast earthiness. Flavor richer than expected from the somewhat dainty aroma. Alcohol kicks in (not at all oppressively) to bring out the malt, spiciness gains in strength. Sort of wore on my palate over time resulting in a somewhat abrasive grainy/alcohol quality, but I’m kind of splitting hairs. Overall a very nice brew.

Jun 28, 2008 Bottle from Trenton take out, Hazy golden pour with a 2 finger thick white head a sweet sugary and bread aroma while the flavor is citrus and malt. It has a good balance and is really a good beer.

Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy light golden color with a thick white head. Aroma predominantly of spices (clove in particular). Flavor of same spices, Belgian yeast, light spicy fruits (spicy apple, pear), some citrus notes. Interesting Belgian strong ale--it was like a fruity witbier to me. A nice, easy-drinking, extremely light (couldn’t tell it was 9% at all) mixture of tart and spicy fruitiness.

Jun 26, 2008 750 ml bottle, corked & caged from Wine Specialist. Hazy gold color with a decent white head. Floral and dark, sugary aromas. Perhaps a touch of yeast spice. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is a bit sweet, with a little citrus and a bunch of herb or veg with yeast. Maybe even a hint of chocolate. Finishes rather dry after the liquid goes away. Really pretty good stuff, and there are fruit and spice notes I can’t easily identify. Excellent drink.
