COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bubbly clear golden pour, white frothy head. Sweet citrus aroma, some honey and floral notes, pretty subtle. Sweet banana flavor at the front with a little hint of spice in the middle then turns into a more dry citrus mouth-feel at the finish. Enjoyable.

bottle with cork and cage, cork pops off and a vigorous head pours out. Aromas of dark fruits, some brown sugar and yeast billow out as a honey copper liquid pours into my glass. Effervescent mouthfeel but it smooths out near the middle, honey and some nice raisin, pear, and date fruitiness. Light, not as overbearing as some belgian strongs, good in its own right.

I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617 this evening. We had a nice dinner at Melting Pot in Troy, MI, and enjoyed a bottle of this with our dinner. We were celebrating his leaving for basic training in the Army. Yay Greg! Either way, on to the beer! The beer poured a nice hazy yellow, medium golden honey color. It had a nice fluffy white head. It had a very nice aroma, sweet, floral, clove, and sweet citrus. This beer had an excellent mouthfeel, full of carbonation and nice light/medium body. It had a nice sweet fruity taste, with a nice spicy accent. Very good, and a nice beer to celebrate with.

750ml. bottle from Vermont. The color is a hazy honey with a thick beige head. The aroma is sweet and fruity. The taste is a good mix of malt and hops wuth added sweetness of fruits and spicies. A very good exemple of a Belgium beer.

Pours a slightly hazy gold color with nice layer off frothy white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, flowers, and spicey yeast. Flavor is peary, cidery, with nice doughy malt base and a spicey finish. Kinda tickles your tongue a bit in the finish. Overall, enjoyable, but not great.

Oh wow this was lovely. Bright golden straw color with a thick foamy white head. Big yeasty notes of banana, cloves, and oranges wafting out of the glass. A very smooth body with spicy notes and delicious yeasty skunkiness. An incredible beverage, by far the best I’ve ever sampled from Brooklyn.

Bottle. Pours a clear light gold with a little white head. Sweet, floral aroma with fruit, wheat. Flavor has more spice than the nose indicated and more alcohol, too. Also bread, hops, and lemon. Good balance for so many flavors. Medium body, smooth, and a bit creamy. Finishes dry as the citrus rests on the insides of the cheeks. Strong effort, though I do enjoy the Local 2 a bit more.

White gold. See through. Head dissipates like so much champagne. Pale dull and not all that impressive to look at. Like a pilsner on steroids in the aroma. Spicy Belgian ale flavors. Incredibly flowery and fragrant. Perfume and hallertauerish hops. Flowery and perfumey. Flowery, piney hops. Belgian spices and a wheaty base. The hops and spice are a symphony of flowery flavors. Crystally; malt-base non-existant. Fizzy and medium bodied. Heavy, fizzy, perfumey and flowery. Bursting wild estery flavors; no malt base to speak of.
