COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/10/2012. Pours fairly crystal clear bright golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon peel, orange peel, pear, apple, grape, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, honey, bread, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright malt and fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon zest, orange zest, pear, apple, grape, honey, bread, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, grape, honey, bread, herbal, floral, pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome balance and complexity of bright malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; with a very crisp malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Belgian Strong pale ale. All around great balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Cellared 750 ml. bottle, shared with craft friends, and poured to snifters showing an orangey gold color, a light layer of diminishing, soft white, bubbly foam, and spotty lacing. The aroma was slightly musty, light yeast, a touch of toastiness, then tart fruit as cherries & berries, Kool-Aid like sweetness, followed by some vinous nature. Medium bodied, the taste was sweet, low bitterness, some silkiness to the mouthfeel, and tart, with a touch of dryness, into the finish. Alcohol seemed subdued. Flavorful, with good complexity, and notes that I’m sure have turned and mellowed favorably, with at least a couple of years on the bottle.

750ml from notes. Pours a hazy golden straw color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor had lemon citrus, hay, biscuit, and mild yeast, bananas, caramel with mild floral notes. Some sweetness. The mouth feel is active, crisp, dry and complex.

Sweet aroma. Very white head with small bubbles. Very much foam. The taste is well balanced. A bit spicy aftertaste. Overall a good Belgian beer from America. Well done!
