Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Poured a hazy golden-amber with a creamy white head. Mild spice aroma. light and smooth moouthfeel. Taste has a light spice note with a bit of breadyness to it. As it warms, a citrusy note appears. Easy to drink and tasty.

Bottle split with Pwn3d, Tony, and Patrickfannon. Had this sucker back to back with Local #2. This poured a lighter body - slightly hazy orange with small white head and decent carbonation. The aroma is spice, yeast, and some sweet malt. The flavor is surprisingly well balanced - with notes of candy malt, yeast and spice.

Bottle acquired in a trade with Bigmmartin. Hazy golden pour white creamy head. Aroma is citrus, spice and yeast. Taste is a mix of the smells, with some added spice and touch or wood. I thought the mouth feel was great, although I can see where the carbonation might be a bit much for some. Overall a good beer and once again props to Bigmmartin for the hookup.

In a La Trappe Chalice. Pours hazy blonde with fine one-inch head, aromas fruit hops and yeast. Fine carbonation. Taste nice light backbone of dry hops over fruit profile of pear, apricot, citrus, spice, light caramel, maybe some banana and raisin. Good with Greek chicken kebabs hot off the grill!

Bottle - Pours a light amber with a bubbly white head. Nose is sweet and fruity, yeasty, and a just a bit spicy. There’s some soapy smells, along with some unripe ctirus. Taste is yeasty, with light spice and wheat. There’s oak and dry, stale hops on the finish. Carbonation is harsh when cold, but much smoother as it warms. A pretty nice beer!

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of raisins, vanilla, and subtle hints of spice. Full body with a clean finish. Very good Belgian strong, especially from an American brewery.
