COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bottle. Super frothy, this beer packs the peppery notes of yeast with crisp, almost pilesner like hops crispness. Delicate dry mouthfeel coupled with a frothy sensation. Not bad.

Light crisp head with a beautiful golden colour. Only minor complaint is that in a 750ml bottle the cork is flared at the bottom so I cant reform it to finish later

750ml bottle served in a St. Bernardus snifter. Plenty of pressure apparent when removing the cork, but the bottle was well behaved, as was the clearly effervescent pour which raised a well proportioned head. The head had good retention and left excellent lacing. The beer is a hazy honey hue. An exceptionally appealing looking brew. [4.5] Aroma: fine fruity and floral layers with spicy yeast notes in the background. Nicely complex smell that has less banana and clove than the stereotypical Belgian pale ale. Hints of pear and other fruits mix with bready notes from the malts. Flavor: Excellent sweet/bitter balance with a light tartness in the finish. Some yeast spiciness and herbal hops in the background. Hints of citrus peels, tropical fruits, banana, white pepper and biscuits in an exceptionally well-crafted mix. Mouthfeel: medium bodied with ample soft effervescent carbonation. ABV partly hidden, although there is a very light burn on my sensitive tongue, and some warming after swallowing. Perfect dryness in the finish. O: Drinkability is exceptional, and I was happy to have this 750ml bottle to myself. ... and happy to have bought a few more at the same time to share with others at a later date.

Very nice Belgium Strong. It has great carbonation and spicy, banana, clove taste with just enough warming from the alcohol. Great palate cleanser.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick white head. Nose is a little sour and citrusy. Taste is just a bit sour and is almost like a light saison. Fairly easy drink, though it feels very carbonated.

Gyllene med stor skumkrona . Komplex arom där bröd (jäst) dominerar. Smaken är väl "spritsig" för mig nästan lite stickande. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours with a nice head. The aroma of Belgium yeast is the first thing that strikes me. Reminds a little bit of Duvel, but doesn't have the same intensive citrus flavor. The taste of alcohol is not as apparent as Duvel either. Really nice beer, would definitely drink it again :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a hazy golden orange with a 1/2 inch foamy white head that dropped to just a film quickly. There was a light tart lemon citrus aroma. The beer had good carbonation and an initial bisquit flavor that was followed immediately by some sweetness. The flavors seemed to change quickly again to more of a tart and bitter taste along with a little spiciness like cinnamon. The finish stayed on the dry and lightly bitter side.

Bottle @ Belgian Brewfest. My notes are not so good as a result of palette fatigue. I liked it, my companions liked it, and that’s all that matters.
