Begins with citrusy, earthy tones and end with a nice sharp clove/spice touch. Each sip left something exciting behind Goodgrief (1148), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2008 May 2007 - Pale straw yellow color with huge head at pour. Took a while to get the bomber into two wine goblets. Weak aroma of honey malts. Flavor was very complex, honey, pears, some grassy hops and a lot of cloves with some other peppery spices. Finished with a mildly tart citrus sourness. Could have passed for a trippel or a saison. High carbonation. Decent...worth seeking out. CaptBier (302), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Bottled. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol and spices - especially coriander. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of alcohol, and medium notes of coriander as well as other spices, leading to a dry spicy finish. Brewer101 (162), New Jersey, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Brooklyn Local 1 is a cloudy amber ale with a thick, frothy, foamy, splotchy, waxy, off-white head. It has great retention and lacing. The aroma is strong and complex: bread, hay, flowers, grass, earth, leaves, forest, peach-- yet none of these elements dominates. It’s a touch sweet. I said "holy crap" to an empty room when I smelled this. It is medium-light bodied and pretty smooth. The finish is bitter and warm and prickly like whiskey. It is lightly sweet, well bittered and a bit sour. It’s pretty well balanced. The flavor is similar to the aroma, but not as sweet. It’s so complex that it seems almost disjointed. Age this. There are flavor notes of green and dried leaves, apricot, prune, sour cherry, orange marmalade and cigars. It’s strong and bright, but rather smooth. Nice! wxman (585), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Pours a pale cloudy yellow with a big fluffy white head. Sweet aroma. Taste is pears and bananas with an earthiness brought on by the yeast, I imagine. Some pleasant sourness during the swallow. Very good! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Semi hazed and calming straw yellow in color with a pillowy, sudsy white head frothed like laundry soup. Aroma reveals a lemon butter crust on a heel of a doughy baguette. Vanilla and butter intersect and linger with a touch of sweet yogurt. High, quaffable effervescence expands within the mouth. Vanilla, banana, butter and almonds make a profoundly sweet and smooth substance slide down the throat, lingering with a hint of cloves and muted white pepper. Lemon crème and banana meringue impart a yogurty like substance on the honey graham crust. A touch of floral like dandelions aid an acidity that hints at the alcohol content, but nothing to distract. Enjoyable, fluffy mouthfeel and candid spicing drums an enjoyable beat to the vanilla lemon foam as the flavor fizzles down with the suds. Thanks for the bottle, tpkenned! walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA

Aromas of lemon and orange, light sugary malt, grass, metal, yeast, and spice. Flavor is tart and tangy lemon and orange citrus, with loads of yeast, really nicely balanced. Great biting carbonation, with a lingering yeast on the finish. Man I love Brooklyn! Great stuff!
