Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of corn, cotton candy, and banana.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Kinda disturbing artificial candy-like aroma starts things on the wrong foot, and the syrupy sweetness in the mouth just doesn’t work either.

Jan 19, 2008 750mL Bottle. Aroma blasts with yeast and sordid peppercorns. A bite medicinal for this cowboy, sensitive to the phenols. Floral and spicy is right on. Pours a redolent blazed gold, clouded 60%. Real lacy, soft soap slides down the glass and gracefully rides the beer. In terms of flavor, it’s not too far off from the aroma. The 9% smacks you in the face with scalding flare and then peppers the palate with whole spice. Astrigency bursts in and escorts the dryness down the run way. Malts and sugars edge clean and lemony. Hops grow bold and gummy, complementing the slightly confused run of yeast products. A real yeast-defined beer, which is what one would expect, but I can’t get over the harshess, both in alcohol and parching phenols. Carbonation right on. Overall, this is not as good as it could be.

Jan 19, 2008 Upon opening, the aroma is a bit yeasty and reminds me of a white wine. Cloudy, yellow haze with a good lasting head. The brew is a bit sweet with an average finish. Nothing to get too excited about, but a solid brew nonetheless.

Jan 18, 2008 Bottle courtesy of mgermani: Poured a hazy beige color ale with a medium foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of candy with some pears and apricot and some sweet malt is somewhat reminiscent of some of the Trappists. Taste is surprisingly not that well balance with a mix between the candy like sweetness and some dry fruits with sweetness just getting to be gross at the end. Body is quite full with some medium carbonation and alcohol was not apparent. I really wanted to like this and I am glad I had the opportunity to try this but I thought the flavour really clash and were not properly balanced.

Jan 17, 2008 Golden in color with a very appealing heavy white head. Grassy, citrus, and fruity aroma. Flavor is also grassy, woody, spicy bite up front with some lingering alcohol present. Not a very complex palate but is easily drinkable and enjoyable.

Jan 16, 2008 From a 750. A hazed slightly oranged/golden pour with a light creamy head. Aroma of yeast dominates. Reasonably dry flavor of fruitiness an almost appleness with a hint of bitter finish (really pretty decent finish). Carbonation is a bit aggressive and a bit thin. Very flavorfull no hints of the abv for me. Very nice offering.

Jan 16, 2008 I LIKED THIS ONE. IT’S PRICETAG OF AROUND $8 USC MAKES IT JUST OK. I ENJOYED BROOKLYNS ATTEMPT AT A BELGIUM STYLE BEER BUT FOR THE SAME PRICETAG AS MOST CHIMAYS OR WESTVELETRNE I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE ORIGNAL.

Jan 15, 2008 a standard belgian strong ale, it has floral aroma mixed with spice and notes of alcohol. sweet but dry, the cane sugar induced alcohol is present along with the easily recognizable belgian yeastiness. the malt profile is not quite strong enough to distinguish itself from brews in this genre.
