Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Courtesy redlight. This one poured a golden orange color with a big foamy white head that recedes slowly and leaves spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is of sweet citrus fruits, malts, some hops, and spices. The flavor follwed suit with citrus fruits, malts and cinnamon spices. It had that nice strong ale flavor with the belgian yeast in it. The body was medium with the right amount of carbonation and smooth spicy finish. This was easy drinking with some good sweet flavor to it. Nicely done.

Tasted 1/18/08. 750ml bottle. Hazy and sedimented with a golden orange hue. Large bubbled white head. Aromas of orange citrus and grapefruit. Tons of fruity notes, melons peaches and candy peanuts. Sugary and brady malts. Good effervescence and dry. Crisp banana yeasty quality. Touch honey. Big and bright!

750 ml bottle, corked caged. Poured a slightly hazy golden peach with a thin, wispy head. Aroma is quite nice, like an overcharged lager: fruity yeast tempered by earthy hops, vanilla sweetness, flowery esters. Pretty creamy body along with grassy hops and bready malts on the palate, finishes only slightly bitter with a long honey finish. Quite a nice surprise.

Pint+9 bottle. Pours a cloudy, golden yellow with a 2 to 3 cm foamy white head. Aroma of yeasty bread and banana. Initial flavor is very sweet with hints of citrus and yeast. Finish is clean and dry and very short lived. Nice lacing, no noticeable carbonation, and alcohol is noted from aroma as it warms through the aftertaste. Kind of thin on the mouthfeel. Very drinkable and better than initially anticipated.

Bottle: Poured a Hazy yellow with lots of head. Aroma was that of yeast. The flavor was sweet with a strong taste of alcohol. Overall, not the best belgium but definately drinkable.
