COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Batch 3028. Pours a hazy orangish yellow, with a white long lasting head. Smells of citrus, coriander, and rye. Very spicy taste, almost white pepper. Nice spicy burn on the back end. Fizzy mouthfeel.

One of my favorites, not sure why I am only rating it now. Love the dry finish and tripel-like spice. One of best American made BSA’s I’ve had, up there with Damnation.

Bottle, Rainhall Drinks, Barnoldswick. Bit disappointed by this. Yellow colour with a decent sized dissipating pillowy off white head. Aroma had notes of orange peel, yeast and caramel malt. Pretty Belgian in the flavour. Yeasty, boozy, sweetish malt and ultimately fairly standard stuff. Drying finish. LOOCALLL??!! Ha, a local drink for local people ?!

Cork did not want to stay in, scared me and my wife along with the dog too. Pours a clear golden color with a gigantic head. Aroma is spicy and citrusy. Flavor is the same. Pretty good beer.

Sample at February 27, 2009 beer club meeting. Semi-clear yellow with a very frothy white head. Very citrusy aroma. Flavor is spicy, but goes down easy. More tingly on the tongue than most real Belgians, almost like they used mineral water in the boil. Not a big fan...
