Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bottle number 1437. Pours cloudy pale gold, with a massive, pure white head that leaves big lace all the way down the glass. Aroma is sweet, floral and lightly spicy with some fruity notes. Flavor is fruity and peppery, with significant alcohol notes. Finish is spicy and slightly phenolic, with more peppery notes. Body is suitably light.

This corked and caged bottled brew marked 1377 from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy fine to large sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a hazy typically carbonated yellow colored body. The aroma was hoppy floral and mild spice. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt hops sweet mildly vinous mild dough and floral. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

From bottle thanks to Joe McPhee. Aroma of fruit, with a clean bitterness. Orange in colour with a thin white head. Tangy flavour, sweet fruit with a decent bitterness. Very good attempt at a Belgian. Enjoyed this one.

Pours orange with a frothy white head. The aroma has orange zest, yeast, spices and has the wit-like as someone stated a in a previous rating. I’m getting the orange zest and coriander, but it seems like more of a tripel style malt than wheat. Medium / full body with semi-sharp carbonation coming out on the finish. The flavor starts with lots of spice, thick malt, candi sugar, a citrus blend, pepper and some abv. The finish gets spicier and a welcome light burn. There is quite a bit of complexity to this one. It strikes me as having elements of a wit, tripel, Belgium golden with a unique twist on them all. A well crafted beer that I wish I would have picked up more just one bottle. Hopefully I can get it on another trip out east.

pours and nice cloudy tan with a bright white head. Aroma is STRONG alcohol and lightly floral. Overall flavor is pretty decent but nothing special. I never would have guessed that brooklyn knew anything about Belgium, but this is a good belgian strong ale. it’s wortha try if your a belgian beer lover.

750 ml bottle. Appealing pour. Large, frothy white head that lasts. Cloudy, dark yellow body. Average to heavy aroma of spice, coriander, lemon, straw and grass. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic and lightly bitter. The light to medium body has a creamy texture and lively carbonation. Dry finish. Enjoyable.

Pours amber orange with a thick white head. Fruity orange yeasty aroma. Nicely carbonated fruity yeasty taste. Finishes dry. Seems less of a belgian strong and more of a big wit beer. Very good nonetheless.

750ml bottle: Muted gold pour with a frothy, cream head. Lemon cream pie aroma is packed with lemon, graham and caramel. Grassy and earthy easters follow. A stale, muted malt note rides above the body, putting a real damper on this for me. As the beer warms, the staleness spreads to the nose as well. Hmm, a good beer that is flawed.
