Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Hazy golden with nice white and persistent head. Banana, vanilla and wheat are on the nose with a yeasty Belgian nod to the style. The nose has soft fruits, warm bread, and is balanced by a grassy/herbal bitterness. Very smooth drinking. The flavor is a skillful blending of the fruity sweetness, pepper, honeyed bread, and a hoppy bitterness. It finishes on a mildly bitter, dry note. Overall, a wonderful beer from our friends in Brooklyn!

Bottle from eyedrinkale I think back in May 2007? Pours with a quickly dissapating medium bubble head that is replaced with a nice thin creamy microbubble layer after 10 minutes or so. Cloudy yellow color. Some corriander in the aroma. Little or no signs of oxidation, which I’ve heard is true ot aged triples, such as this one. Taste is clean and leans sweet. Pretty easy to drink. Best with dinner. Very tasty. I like it.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow-gold color with a large white head. The aroma was sweet citrus and honey. The flavor was dryish with a touch of honey and lemon and fairly strong bready element. Very nice.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a bubbly head of massive proportions that settles first into a dense rocky foam before fading away almost entirely before half the glass is gone. Dry dusty straw aroma. Straw and pears-in-syrup flavours, raw finish, some faint spicy notes that are lost as you spend time with this beer. Nothing grabs hold with this beer.

Interesting take on the style with much more hops than most. Had this along with five other Belgian and Belgian style strong ales and this was my favorite. Pretty impressive for Brooklyn.

750 bottle. pours cloudy yellow with a nice fluffy white head. aroma is in line with a well rounded tripel - yeast, orange, slight spice. nice mouthfeel, the sugar gives it some body but its remains crisp. bread and sweet sugars, with a dry, tart citrus in the taste. alcohol is warming but no unpleasant taste and its rounds out nicely as its warms. a very nice belgian, good for sipping.

750 ml corked and caged bottle from cdog69. Poured in my Delirium Tremens tulip.
Pours a lightly hazed gold with a snowy white head. Lots of carbonation.
Light fruit aromas of pears and apples. Sugars and spices. Dust and cobwebs.
I taste some ginger, and other spices. Maybe some flowers. Sweet sugars are there too. Mild bitterness.
Medium body. High carbonation. Dry finish. Kind of oily.
Really a well made beer. Dare I say, refreshing?
