COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Thanks to luttonm for sharing. Pours like a gueuze - a cloudy golden color, with a good-sized head. Smells - honest to God - like lemon meringue pie. A great blend of sweet, tart and bitter. Hops come through, yeasty farmhouse notes and a good amount of sweetness - like a tripel with a smidge of brett. Really interesting, very refreshing, but very mild, for sure.

Cloudy straw yellow color with a tall white soapy head. Aroma of yeast, spice, and fruit. Balanced flavor of citrus, spice, yeast. Smooth, well-balanced.

Bouteille de 750 ml, achteté à City Market à Burlington, Vermont, le 25 septembre 2008. Bu la veille de la nouvel an. Blonde brumeuse, moyen collet. Arome d’houblon sec et épicé, pas très malté et une touche alcoolisé. Bon goût houblonné, un peu d’herbes sec et une finission réchaufante. Sec mais savoureuse qui fini bien 2008!

Sampled at St Pete Creative Loafing Beerfest. Very wheaty and yeasty. Almost like cereal. Smooth and not too hoppy.

750 mL. Pours a hazy gold with a huge white head that thins down to a film but leaves intricate lacing. Strong aroma of citrus, spice, bananas. Taste is similar to La Fin Du Monde- good carbonation, lots of yeast, spice, bitter orange, cane sugar, and slight warming alcohol from the 9%. Dry wine-like finish. Excellent.

750ml bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a big frothy white head, good lacing. Strong flowery malty banana aroma. Light fruit and sweet spices. Not overpowering. Spicy banana taste. Light malts, watery palate, with good carbonation.

Bottle. Pale and cloudy golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is citric, and the flavour is very citric, spiced and quite dry at the finish. Overall a fairly average beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden color with a thick, frothy head. Very soft aroma. Light citrus with a hint of dry malt. First thing I thought when I took a sip was "this tastes kind of dry." Anyway, it has the typical Belgian characteristics: citrusy, nice body, kind of chewy, yada yada yada. Not too bad. I kind of expected more. But all in all, not bad for Brooklyn.
