Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Nov 10, 2007 Really nice aroma of citrus. Pours into a golden color. It has a very good initial palate, then citrus flavors. However, it has a very dry finish. I would have liked a longer finish ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador Nov 10, 2007 Thanks Ramenen. Bottle: All I got was alcohol, flat, watery and plain. Thin body and weak profile. brigg (213), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 9, 2007 (bottled) Hazy orange beer with thin white head. Aroma is sweet; bananas, spices and wheat, some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, banana, alcohol. Very good aroma and flavor, but as I drank it the aftertaste became more alcohol, metallic - thus not as good as it started. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 7, 2007 Very pale yellow with athick white head. Yesty and fruity notes. Malt, flowers and fruit taste. medium to full body with a dry finish. Jine (889), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Nov 6, 2007 Bottle. 11.04.07. In my Duvel glass on my brother’s birthday. My entrance into autumn is complete with this beer. A solid Belgian Strong even though it isn’t from the country. I was so happy with this slightly syrupy piece. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Nov 5, 2007 Pours a rich warm orangy gold with a big ass head, white, settling to a thin film quickly. Big sweet nose. Malty and fruity. A bit of caramel, but mostly pale malt. Spice, maybe some coriander, and even some wheaty esters, but very balanced, as the sweetness is big. A touch of alcohol in here too. Almost reminds me of a slightly drier Stille Nacht. Maybe De Dolle yeast? A bit thick on the palate, but in a good way, with subdued carbonation. Sweet up front with round malt. A bit fruity, with a very dry candy finish. There’s some toast on the back end that doesn’t kick in until the alcohol makes a little room. A nice balance between the sweetness, alcohol, spice, and even some spicy hops. I wish the toast was a little less forward in the finish. It’s really the only flaw in this beer. Not bad at all! JHunter (242), British Columbia, Canada Nov 4, 2007 a enjoyable try for a beligum that isn’t from beligum. fruity hints in the aroma and flavor and a nice redish gold colour. aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA Nov 4, 2007 Golden yellow with white head. Full-bodied taste, smooth mouthfeel. Strong taste and smooth finish. Good belgian style ale for America. Extremely well balanced. Excellent before and after warming.
