drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Oct 29, 2007 Almost Chimay-like. A Belgian Blond style. Golden. Pours nicely. Good taste. Typical flavors you expect. The only drawback is that it doesn’t finish as good as it starts. But a nice beer. Well worth the month it took me to finally open it. Wish we got it around here. polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Oct 29, 2007 Huge white foamy head that was mostly lasting. Sparkling gold hue. Aroma of yeast, sweet malt, dried fruits, and crystal. Flavor is yeasty with the classic sweet Belgian crystal. Light in body and lively carbonation. Not bad, would try again. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bottle. Faint copper pour with an off-white head. Phenolic aromas and somewhat soapy. Incredible amount of spice. Somewhat hot and slightly astringent. carl4beer (394), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Oct 26, 2007 pours golden with big frothy head. aroma is slightly sweet with some tangy spice to it. mouthful is zesty with candied fruit and a bit of coriander spiciness. has a little bitter finish to it. very pleasant Belgian... shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 24, 2007 2007 750ml bottle consumed relatively fresh. Pour is a clear effervescent golden. Head is a swirly layer of white cream. Attractive enough. The aroma is interesting. Its sweet but light. An alcoholic pineapple is the aroma. The alcohol presence is noticeable but not nearly overwhelming. Pleasant. Flavor is light, spritzy, and with a nice belgian yeast character. A little doughy, but dry. A very refreshing belgian ale. Not heavy at all. Well done. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 20, 2007 bottled, thanks to henrikb. golden with a lingering fluffy head. aroma of cake mix, raisins, coriander, brown sugar. plenty of candi sugar sweetness, apple peel, vanilla custard and some fresh, floral bitterness. i enjoyed it, even if the czechs i shared it with thought there must have been something wrong with the bottle since it didn’t taste like pilsner HighlanderOne (538), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Oct 20, 2007 Poured from bottle. #400!!!! Aroma - kinda smells like any ol’ beer, just a whiff of malt. Cloudy, golden, persistent head. Oh, the taste - like a fine dessert - roasted malt, hops, vanilla, pineapple, pepper, banana, a burnt sugar taste, and the alcohol blends in so that it complements the flavor very well. Wonderful finish. A worth choice for 400 - and the big bottle let me enjoy it even more. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Oct 20, 2007 Caged-and-corked bottle. Sweet, very yeasty aroma, very nice Belgian yeast and a dash of candis. Thicky honeyish bready malt. Gold-as-gold golden body, clear with a strong carbonation and a fluffy, creamy white head. Taste is dry and yeasty, a little bit raw, but without any significant contribution from the alcohol either way. Honey with accents of white peppercorn. They yeast has backed off a bit and isn’t as nice as predicted by the nose; and I like the vomity dryness, but this would be improved with some sweetness. Slightly peary with a dry, spicy finish. Medium-full body, and a bit rough at times, but only at times. On the whole, uninspiring, but a good little change of pace.
