COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Pours a pale cloudy yellow with a big fluffy white head. Sweet aroma. Taste is pears and bananas with an earthiness brought on by the yeast, I imagine. Some pleasant sourness during the swallow. Very good!

Semi hazed and calming straw yellow in color with a pillowy, sudsy white head frothed like laundry soup. Aroma reveals a lemon butter crust on a heel of a doughy baguette. Vanilla and butter intersect and linger with a touch of sweet yogurt. High, quaffable effervescence expands within the mouth. Vanilla, banana, butter and almonds make a profoundly sweet and smooth substance slide down the throat, lingering with a hint of cloves and muted white pepper. Lemon crème and banana meringue impart a yogurty like substance on the honey graham crust. A touch of floral like dandelions aid an acidity that hints at the alcohol content, but nothing to distract. Enjoyable, fluffy mouthfeel and candid spicing drums an enjoyable beat to the vanilla lemon foam as the flavor fizzles down with the suds. Thanks for the bottle, tpkenned!

Awesome bottle! Hazy light orange color with white head. Aromas of lemon and orange, light sugary malt, grass, metal, yeast, and spice. Flavor is tart and tangy lemon and orange citrus, with loads of yeast, really nicely balanced. Great biting carbonation, with a lingering yeast on the finish. Man I love Brooklyn! Great stuff!

Pours from the 750ml bottle a slightly hazy yellow-gold hue. An immense 2" tight white head forms with streams of CO2 bubbles buzzing to the surface. Superb head retention throughout the entire chalice is quite impressive. Thick sheets of lacing coat the sides of the glass. Aroma profile is that of somewhat muted lemon cookies, fresh yeast, banana, cloves, coriander, wheat cereal and vanilla. Palate is nicely balanced between a full, creamy texture and an ample amount of tingly carbonation as expected from a Belgian-style ale. Flavors were a bit more assertive than the aromas. Pleasant notes of lemon cream, orange, clove, ripe banana, yeast, fresh bread and a touch of vanilla bean are enjoyed. The finish gives up just a hint of hoppy/herbal bitterness to nicely balance out the ale’s sweetness. The 9% alcohol is virtually imperceptible. A very easy to drink Belgian Strong. For $7.99 per bottle you can find the genuine Belgian brews, but this offering is not far behind.

Bottle Golden pour with massive white head. Light aroma of esters and a bit of spice. Flavor follows accordingly. Pretty good Belgian, but not the best.

Bottle. Poured hazy gold with a fluffy white head that dissipated quickly leaving a good bit of residual lace. Love the aroma of caramel and bannanas. Not quite as complex in the mouth as the nose promised, but still good. Lots of bannanas and some citrus hoppiness that lends a hint of bitterness to the finish. Not my favorite Belgian Strong, but very good.

750 ml bottle via trade with AlexDeLarge - Pours a hazy light golden color with a one and a half finger thick white head. Very light clumpy lacing. Aroma is floral, citrus, light yeast, and esters (banana). Flavor is lightly sweetened malt, fruity esters, and light spice. Medium to full body. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Alcohol isn’t overbearing. A very drinkable beer. Thanks Jason.

Not what I thought. Poured a pale yellow. Very fiesty taste. Lots of floral flavors with a very dry finish. High carbonation and hard to taste the high alcohol content.

750 ML bottle (#1847). Right off the bat, I have to say not only is this one of my favourite styles of Beer, but this is on the level with my favourite Beer "Duvel". Awesome golden hazy colour, with great notes of Citrus and Yeast. Excellent flavour of sweet to sour citrus, and yeast. Head was nice and full. Very enjoyable!!
