COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Slightly hazy mid golden colour with a huge foamy head that settles down but lasts. Pears, peaches and slight mango aromas initially with nice spicy peppery phenols as well. Fruit characters carries through to the taste as well as the spicy character. Doesn’t seem complex or anything but very enjoyable.

Bottle 750ml. Masterpiece, never-ending flavour. Aromas of butter, caramel, and orange. Taste is sweet, with mild sourness, and bitter notes; very long length. Palate is silky, and full bodied. Yellow, with a frothy head.

Good looking bottle, beer looks good too: bright, just hazy gold with a large white head. Very high bead. Aroma of light caramel and dough, flowers, lemon pudding, vanilla. Sweet with peaches and medium sugar, vanilla, some citrus, hints of cardamom and white pepper. Alcohol is there but not that prominent for 9% (but equally it’s not clear why it’s so strong). Lacks depth and punch in the spices. A little too clean for my tastes, but OK.

Bottle from Appellation. Pours a nice straw colour with a decent white head. Aroma of lemon, candy sugar and grassy hops. Similar lemon citrus flavour with a wheaty full mouthfeel. Some caramel and sour notes with a crisp co2 finish. Perfect with the prawn curry.

Basically, really good. But should have more taste since the booze comes through far too well. Fruity to begin with, nutty to end with.
