COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, lemon grass and apple. Taste is sweet light malts, honey, biscuit, plum and apple. A bitter hop profile arrives fairly quickly and is balanced nicely with the maltiness. Appearance is a slightly hazy straw body with a fluffy pearl head that retains fairly well.

Bottle from Systembolaget. First beer with a champagne cork which actually opens by the pressure of a bottle fermented beer. Pepper and banana nose. Golden body. Quite a bit of white head. Sweet with some bitterness. A tiny hint of sour taste. Medium body and carbonation. Fruit. Raisin, ripe apple, some peach and pear and a very slight hint of lemon flavour. Very good.

Bottle at brew night. Pours hazy gold, thick white head, nice lacing. Big Belgian yeasty aromas, spicy and orange sweet. Taste is crisp, dry, spice, some light bready sweetness too. Medium body and very easy drinking. Nice.

Bottle, 0.75l, shared with friends. Hazy golden color with medium creamy white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, lemon, orange peel, some berries and hint of herbal hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet grainy malt, follows by refreshing fruity and yeasty acidity, spicy mouthfeel and well hidden alcohol level. Medium body, sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. Nice one, although it hasn’t completely met my high hopes...

Citrus and butterscotch in the aroma. The flavor is dominated by a tone of alcohol with some herbs and citrus again. A well made belgian strong ale!

Bottle. Dark golden body with a huge white head. Aroma of fruity yeast, wheat, grass. Taste is mild spicy with banana and a faint citrus note. Light bitterness, sweet honey taste. A bit short finish, which is pretty sweet with yeast. Good, not great.

Excelente cerveja. Surpreende pela acidez sendo leve e também adocicada no final. Cerveja para brindar bons momentos.

"A sweet fruity zesty take on a golden Belgian Strong. Started off poor, with a volcano upon opening losing about 20% of the beer. Lively carbonation in the feel to say the least. It recovered well however. Fruity floral aroma, with a dry bready component in the finish. Nicely done."
