vtafro (212), , New Jersey, USA Jun 30, 2009 Bottle. Golden yellow pour with substantial head. Sweet sugar and fruit ester aroma. Favor isn’t too sweet but fu bodied and satisfying for an American "Belgian ale." Dogbrick (2645), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 30, 2009 Sample at AleFest Columbus (06/27/09): This brew pours a cloudy golden-amber color with a medium and foamy off-white head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of yeast and sweet fruits along with malt. Medium body with flavors of yeast and spices plus citrus and other fruit. The finish is spicy, primarily pepper with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall, but I am glad I took the #2 first. beerchugger (216), Colorado, USA Jun 29, 2009 Pours cloudy orange with minimal head. Smells of lemon, some spice, and other citrus flavors. The taste is similar to the nose with flavors of citrus, coriander, yeast, and fresh bread. Banana and clove is also noticeable. The finish is rather sweet. This beer is very reminiscent of a Belgian and rather enjoyable. cgarvieuk (3397), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 27, 2009 Bottle at home ... yellow amber ... thin white head ... sweet esteru yeasty nose ... soft smooth summer fruits ... peach ... apricot ... light pepperyness ... light alcohol in back ... crajun (55), , Texas, USA Jun 27, 2009 VERY niiice

Vertical Bacon Strips (581), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 25, 2009 First off, I’m not a big fan of tripels but I don’t hate them by any means. The first time I had a bottle of this was X-Mas ’07 and I was less than impressed but still polished off the 750 ml bottle in under an hour.... let’s see what happens this time around.
Poured out a small but acceptable white crown that died to a film to quick. Hazy golden yellow brew. -musical interlude. Thanks goes to oh6gdx for the Rotten Sound link. As I type, my senses are getting melted by the obliterating sound disintegrating my speakers. My cat just turned to dust. Man, this beer just tastes better with killer tunes annihilating my eardrums. I can barely hear my taste buds.... The aroma is quite mild and pleasant. Mild aromas of the following: musty, spice, fruit that is not dark, etc. You know, this comes across really good. Brooklyn gets it done. If this was West Coast US, there would be a god awful amount of hops tossed in. Good standard Belgium aroma. Longest review ever! I’m mostly done my second bottle. The taste is quite good - lightly spiced with good pepper, clove and a weak alcohol presence. Some obvious mustiness and earth, yeast, weak semi-dark fruit. The mouth feel is actually nice and smooth with very good carbonation. Dry yet wet finish (go figure), big dirt and clove finish. I take it all back - this is a fine beer. If it wasn’t 15 bux I’d get another. Brooklyn continues to pump out very good brews. Bhops (260), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 23, 2009 I really love this beer. Nice belgian strong ale... massive yeasty head... aroma of fruit and yeast. Flavor is fruit/tart and some nice spice. One of my favorite locally available beers. Strykzone (1334), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jun 23, 2009 Bought at Whole Foods. A cloudy, well carbonated golden brew. Light golden hued head is big and starts with a volcano effect and dissipates in big bubbles. Aroma is both sweet and tart fruit with sugar and yeast. Flavor offers more malt than the aroma would suggest. It is also funky. Complex well ripe fruit flavors. Throw in some butter. The fruit profile increases with temperature offering more lemon, orange, and coriander spice. Feel is quite effervescent, even a champagne palate. Even with the alcohol this was enjoyed on a hot summer day. And it got better as it warmed.
