Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Second Annual Saison Tasting’ -- courtesy of biegaman. Pours a clear gold with an average size semi-lasting foamy white head. Aroma of grain and fruit, a bit grassy and with a hint of sourness -- just O.K., I’m not crazy about it. Slightly boozy flavour with grain, a bit of sweet fruit, light grassy hops and an average bitter finish. Medium bodied. Decent but not really to my liking.

Pours a mostly translucent golden with an medium frothy white head that laced. Aroma of mixed citrus, orange peel, some Belgian yeast esters, cheerios, green apple, corriander (?) and other various spices. Flavor was a nice mix of the same. ABV not there for 9%. A very crisp, refreshing Belgian strong ale with some bready malt notes, lots of various citrus notes and lots of nice spiciness. Well done!

Belgian-style, but it has a bit more sweetness. Well balanced, big beer, deserves better than to be a victim of a tasting evening!

Bottle. Light gold with yellow. Decent head retention but could be a little better when poured into a tulip. Aroma is grassy and somewhat sweet with honey, lemon and grass. Taste is almost tripel sweet with banana and tangerine and faint toffee and pear. Nice lively mouthfeel and a pleasant aftertaste.

Bottle. Poured a medium fizzy white head that mostly diminished, virtually no lacing, fast rising carbonation, cloudy, and a pale yellow hue. The aroma was yeast, malty, hoppy, sweet, spicy, and some fruit. The flavor was sweet, fruity, spicy, semi-sticky tasting, yeasty, malty, and a dry finish. Tingly, sticky and dry mouthfeel. Medium in body. A solid beer for the style and worthy of a try.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Pours a cloudy gold. Voluminous white frothy head. Nose smacks of Belgian yeasts, grains, wheat and soft lemon. Lighter fruitiness and soft spice begin to develop as it warms. Taste is slightly bitter with big yeast notes, wheat, sweet malts, sourdough, and fruits. Soft flowery notes as well. Body is bubbly and light-medium. Light bitterness. Some dryness to this as well. Ends with bigger fruit notes, some banana, yeast, grains, soft spice and flowers atop a chalky, dry, malt backbone. Nice one!

Bottle. Pale and cloudy golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is citric, and the flavour is very citric, spiced and quite dry at the finish. Overall a fairly average beer.

Columbia, SC - Greens Discount Beverage - 750 ml bottle - cellared - and elegantly poured into a plastic Comfort Suites plastic cup. Medium golden pour with a fluffy, soft white head that hangs around for quite a while. Lemony, grassy aroma with a hint of cloves and alcohol. Flavor is slightly rubbery with hints of banana and bubblegum and a heavy boozy aftertaste. Mouthfeel is spritzy, but not to the point of distraction. Alcohol is felt and noticed. Expected a tad more considering the presentation. Perhaps needs a bit of aging.
