Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Pours amber orange with a thick white head. Fruity orange yeasty aroma. Nicely carbonated fruity yeasty taste. Finishes dry. Seems less of a belgian strong and more of a big wit beer. Very good nonetheless.

Brew pours a slightly hazed, pale golden color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. A lasting head finally reduces to a thick, downy canopy of sticky lacework. Bright and creamy aromas of tropical vanilla malts. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. The texture is pillowy soft like a big cotton ball. Tropical malts set the scene for this classic novel. Only mildly sweet w/ cameo appearances from Mr Vanilla Bean, Madame Citrus Rind, and the mild Banana Spice mistress. It’s not a complex novel but the story line is solid and the talent is timeless. The finish is bittered w/ a peach pit style and leaves a lingers parchment on the palate.

Bottle shared thanks to xnoxhatex at Andrews Bachelor Party. Pours a cloudy yellow with a tall white head. Yeasty banana aroma with hints of clove and spice. Banana citrus and yeast flavors that are sweet and creamy. Decent beer but certainly not exceptional.

Tried a sample at Brewfest Tallahassee. Some nice esters, though a bit light for the style, though yeast does come through slightly.

750ml bottle. pours a bright gold color, great thick white head. Aroma is quite fruity, and slightly peppery, and spicy, with little notes of yeast, and hops. Flavour is again, very fruity, with a nice hop punch. Finish is quite dry, and bitter. very nice belgian. A good take on a classic style.

750 mL bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a huge white head. Lacing was prevelant. Aroma was light citrus notes with a yeast/bread smell of a Belgian. Flavor has banana and cloves with some warming alcohol. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. This was a very enjoyable beer.

bottle, from Cary Wholefoods. Good aroma, sweet & spice. Not strongly spiced, coriander, lite melon, honey, banana, yeast. I poured slow and got a clean golden orange color, second pour had a haziness about it. Sweet flavor, like aroma. Nicely blended, not over powering, but like aroma gives you a lot of subtleties. Coriander, banana, little orange. Medium body, smouth creamy mouthfeel, spiced sweet finish. Went down easy, though didn’t seem particularly strong. Might grab one to see what happens with age.
