Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

From bottle thanks to Joe McPhee. Aroma of fruit, with a clean bitterness. Orange in colour with a thin white head. Tangy flavour, sweet fruit with a decent bitterness. Very good attempt at a Belgian. Enjoyed this one.

Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is of lemon, citrus, banana, floral hops, yeast, and very little alcohol. Flavor is of candied sugar, lemon, citrus, and banana up front. Finishes a little bitter from the floral hops and has a little alcohol warming. Flavor was much better then the aroma.

Bottle. Faint copper pour with an off-white head. Phenolic aromas and somewhat soapy. Incredible amount of spice. Somewhat hot and slightly astringent.

750ml brown bottle, corked. Golden colour, orange highlighting. Hazy. Compact white head. Nose has spicy yeast, citrusy orangey notes, some nice honeyish sweetness. In the mouth there is a nice citrus sweetness, some bready malts, caramel, spice. Finishes yeasty/spicy and ulitmately dry. Some bread and yeast aftertaste with some light alcohol. Medium body with a soft mouthfeel, light carbonation.

750ml bottle: Muted gold pour with a frothy, cream head. Lemon cream pie aroma is packed with lemon, graham and caramel. Grassy and earthy easters follow. A stale, muted malt note rides above the body, putting a real damper on this for me. As the beer warms, the staleness spreads to the nose as well. Hmm, a good beer that is flawed.
