COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

750ml bottle. Pours a golden color with generous foamy off-white head. Fruity aroma with a touch of spices. Slighty sour and tart flavor with plenty of fruitiness and some spices in the finish. Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. No alcohol notes in the flavor despite it being 9%. This is well done and quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Hazy pale amber body with fast disappearing white head. Aroma is ripe fruits with some alcohol and the typical Belgian yeast. Taste is sweet and also dry with some sourness. Aftertaste is medium bitter with some alcohol. Very nice one.

Pours hazy gold, bolbous white pillowy head, lacing galour. Aroma is sour yeast, fruity. Flavor is sour, then bittering, back to sour, then finishing with Belgian yeast. Greatly complex. Fairly high carbonation, but smooth, smooth mouthfeel. Lingering aftertaste. A really nice, complex beer from Brooklyn, especially consdering they are selling it for $6.99 at Well’s.

Pours straw with a lot of wispy head. Nose is Belgian yeast, spicy yeast, lemon, fruit esters, banana. Taste is Belgian yeast, very bready, sweet, then I get some spicy yeast, fruit esters, aftertaste lingers. Lively and effervescent. Solid offering, a bit too sweet, and I prefer other Belgian yeasts to this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drank right after a Duvel so it had some big shoes to fill. Decent pour with a nice head although more on the cloudy side like a hefeweizen. Crisp and dry. Peppery flavors.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with an enthusiastic head, great persistence and spotty lacing. Nose is fruity yeast and sweet malt, with just a hint of funk. Taste starts out sweet, with light tropical fruit, pear or apple, and a hint of funk, finishing dry with slight pepper and grassy hops. Medium bodied, with active sustained prickly carbonation, lingering light hoppy bitterness, and just the slightest warming. Very nice. Very dangerous. This does not feel like a 9% ABV. A stonking good Belgian with lots of body and a smooth, pleasant flavour. Not sure it’s worth the $13 a bottle it ran me, which is the only reason I’ve marked it down a little on the overall.

1pint 9.4 fl oz bottle bought in Manhattan. Sorry ... Pours out pale golden, fine white head. Malt and unknown fruity on the nose. Starts alcoholic malty, yeasty, dry fruity background. High carbonated. Heavy stuff. Nothing to drink fast. Almonds, marzipan and alcoholic in the aftertaste.
