3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Grabbed this out of the cellar. It’s about a year old so nothing crazy.
A: Looks good. Hazy golden wheaty color. Explosive head. I poured it into a glass with some laser etching and it’s going crazy.
S: Very musty in the smell. Sugary. Alcohol. herbacious. A bit light.
T: As with the smell only the mustiness is very well controlled. Lots of fruit notes. Lots of earthy notes. Very complex but a little acidic maybe. Alcohol is a little heavy not a lot of bite though.
P: Carbonation is pretty good. Lots of flavors. Pretty full bodied.
Overall this is a solid belgian beer. Very well balanced and brings all the critical aspects of a belgian. A little intense with the alcohol and the flavors are almost too complex to where no one stands out too much. Worth checking out.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pours hazy gold with thick white head. Citrus, bubble gum, banana, fruity esters, cloves, wheat, spices. Moderately bitter and sweet. Medium bodied. Moderately crisp, but with creamy undertones. Other than a little too much acidity, a fantastic blonde.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Brooklyn Local 1) Bottle 750 mlcorked and caged at home, served into a tulip, ABV 9%
Opens with a loud pop, the cork goes flying and somewhere downstairs, I guess the vacuum cleaner wll get it. Light gush, nothing to worry about. Bright golden yellow colour on the body, crystal clear, huge and thick white head, with average retention, leaving spots of lacing on the glass.
Fruity aroma with light apricot, peach, some yeast, light citrus, fresh straw.
Nice taste, again some yeast present, citrus, apricot, light peach, grass, straw, some hints of spices.
Medium thin body with good carbonation.
A well done example of a belgian strong ale.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wow, this is smooth for 9 abv. Lacks the strong yeast taste, though still present, of many Belgians. Similar to a saison.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml botle. Pours into a tulip with a preposterously large head. Murkey golden yellow calor, big white frothy head. Aroma is lemon, coriander, clove, wheat, slight orange, citrus, hop character, and quite a bit of Belgian spice character. Flavor is lemon, hops, citrus, honey, clove, really nice. A lot more hop character than expected. Not overly sweet but still characteristically Belgian. Very solid. Effervescent mouthfeel. Spice character lingers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brooklyn Local 1 on varsin kokeilullinen yhdistelmä eri maista olevia raaka-aineita: saksalaista humalaa ja ohramallasta, mauritiuslaista sokeria ja belgialaista hiivaa. Muistuttaa paljon voimakkaita belgialeja, kuten duvelia. Local 1:een on kuitenkin saatu hieman Brooklynille tyypillistä ominaismakua. Puukorkillinen pullo on hieman turhan iso (0,75) ja tyyris. Saattoi johtua myös paikasta ja ajankohdasta, mutta tällä kertaa tämä ei säväyttänyt ihan niin paljon kuin siltä odotin.

The better of the 2 Locals. Both are Fantastic. If you like fancy beers you must keep this in your collection. I'm not big on Saison styles but this beer is perfect. Any chance I could get my hands on this bottle I will try it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Best before mars 2017 (no bottling date): Pours a cloudy gold with huge white head. Very weissbier-like scents with green bananas, lots of yeast, toast and some neutral tea leaf. Medium bodied palate. Despite a very clean palate, this has almost no heat at all for 9%. It's not as full bodied as a typical tripel, yet it hides the alcohol better than many. Impressive craftmanship here, but not very exciting.
