Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Looks like they really got this one. Delicate aroma that shows a hint of phenol, plus apple skins and banana and a background of doughy yeastiness. Also something of a sugary breadiness. There’s just a delicate fruity bready spiciness to this aroma that really works. Lightly hazy golden amber color, foamed up quickly on the pour but faded just as quickly. Aah, right at the front of the mouth I get it. Fluffy airy palate with a burst of juicy sweetness right behind the crackling carbonation. There’s more raw sugar in the flavor than aroma, but its never sticky because the mouthfeel is right on. Spicy yeastiness contributes a modicum of complexity, though it could be more so. Finish is semi-dry, and reveals virtually none of its alcoholic strength. This is my first Brooklyn beer since 2002 (and more regularly since 2001) and its clear I’ve missed them.

Clear, straw-colored, with a big white head. Classic tripel nose--honey sweet, with oranges, a decent amount of spice: coriander, anise, and black pepper. Flavor is rather sweet, almost syrupy, with a spicey black-pepper finish and a dry nutty bitterness. A little too effervescent.

Hazy golden color with a huge white head and heavy lacing. Aroma of spices, citrus and yeast. Flavor is sweet, spicy, with citrus and lots of carbonation. Like a tripel

Bottled 750ml. -Cloudy orange/yellow coloured, medium to big white head, spicy fruity nose. Lively carbonation. Very fruity (orange and apricot), yeasty and spicy (mainly coriander) with notes of vanilla. Alcohol is discreet, just mild touch in the finish. Typical, decent and enjoyable BSA.

(Bottle Number 0267) This is the way I like most Belgian style beers. I like them to be light, airy, refreshing, dryish, and yeasty, I really enjoy this beers light body considering its a 9% ABV beer. The palate is crisp, yeasty, spicy, and slightly acidic. I seem to be going against the grain, but I like this beer . It is nice to see Brooklyn doing some brewing and bottling now, hopefully this trend will continue.

Orange color, small fluffy head on top that lasts short. Intense yeast, bread and orange nose. Nice super intense very stuffing yeast taste that lasts medium long.Slightly oily finish- but very enjoyable. Good treet!

Bottle. Light hazy golden in color with a nice off white head. Yeasty grassy and fruity aroma. Citrusy spicey notes. Malty and sweet flavor. Coriander and orange peel notes. Yeasty. Finish is spicey. Medium bodied. Lively mouthfeel. Very nice beer. Enjoyable.
