Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bottle at WBF in Raleigh. Was expecting more recognizable Belgian notes from this beer. Found it sweet, malty, but not yeasty as I wanted it to be. Simply okay. Would like to try again as I think it was overshadowed by other tastings at the fest.

Pop of the cork reveals a slight vapor and hiss as the CO2 is released from the beer. It pours a dark straw, Tangerine, almost pumpkin color beer. Generally hazy, enough to block detail from objects viewed through the glass but enough visibility to still see large shapes. The head was somewhat dense almost creamy like a stout with good uniform bubble size throughout, but quickly vanished. Straw aroma with a hint of banana and bubble gum. Medium taste of grapefruit with a bit of spice, which finishes with a grass note. Just an edge of sharpness from the 9% abv but otherwise smooth and comfortable to drink. Greatly enjoyed and admirer of Brooklyn’s specialty beers.

A Sim rate (tap at Heartland Brewery, Union Square): It’s that infectious kind of hops aroma that just jumps out at you! It’s fresh summer. It’s cut grass. Very nice head and lacing. It’s everything an IPA should be. Malty and so freshly hoppy. Delicate after an initial serious assault. Very impressed.

Very, very impressive beer. Pours a brilliant hazy gold, with a head that doesn’t last long at all. Lots of citrus on the nose. Taste is so smooth and drinkable and not very carbonated. Definite tastes of citrus, dominated by grapefruit, and other zests. perhaps a little bit of vanilla lingers in the after taste. Will buy again very soon!

I don’t know where to begin... Beautiful pour; hazy golden and perfect white creamy head. The carbonation lasts throughout the entire beer and is plentiful. I can’t seem to figure out the aroma but there is definitely alot going on. I’ll plaigarize the commericial description as the the beer has a "palate of unusual depth." It seems to last and last and last and...

Lightly hazy and straw colored with a small head. Mildly sweet aroma, floral with some marshmallow and a hint of spiciness, perhaps clove. Sweet and thick with flavors of orange, malt and black pepper. Noticeable hops. Lingering, flavorful finish.
