3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 willblake (2601) - Bel Air, USA - JUN 15, 2007
20070616 750ml bottle with code 0476 (dunno if that means anything). Medium golden color, slight haze, lofty white head of sudsy foam that lingers (and lingers). Slight visible eff. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with nice notes of peach, apricot, tropical fruit, and pizza dough. Nice, and probably better aroma than I expected. I’m also glad to notice right away a touch of the signature Brooklyn Brewing aroma, which, in the summertime, feels like home to me. Mouthfeel is medium-light and if there was a stronger alcohol presence I’d probably say it was too thin, but it’s really a pretty nice feel, and the alcohol is almost unnoticeable. Flavor-wise, I do wish it was more robust or assertive, but it’s a mild, subtle, fruity mix of flavors with nice incorporation of the yeast into the complexity of the stuff. It seems over thought or maybe without true direction, opposites, sure, and I do think the former. So what is it? I guess it’s just Oliver’s attempt at a belgian golden, but it is pretty strong (it says, but I don’t feel it). Whatever it is, it’s a decent brew and a good price, now if they’d only bottle some of that saison.

2420512: Cloudy bright orange Belgian strong ale with a nice foam which offers small laces on the glass. Aroma of light alcohol and yeast. Good Belgian flavor without being able to compete with the real thing. Actually a little thin in length. Fine soft creamet consistency.
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 efecher (49) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - MAY 23, 2012
Honestly, tastes like a weissbeir, if only slightly. Nice citrus notes, thick head, cloudy golden color. 9% alc so don’t go trying to down this all in one sitting unless you’re not going anywhere for a while. Over all, a WIN for Brooklyn!

Sampled from 0.75l bottle @ Ølfestival København 2012. A near clear golden one with a small off-white head. Really zest-fruity on the aroma, some fruits here as well with some orange zesty tones. Quite OK. Well lively carbonation and a somewhat thin and almost watery texture. OK flavors also with a light yeasty ans spicy pepperish tone all the way. Also I get alcohol, malts and mineral water with a strong spicy pepper finish. Feels a bit un-blended and parting in flavors. Still, quite tasty. 10.05.2012

1 pint 9.4 oz. Bottle. A winner! Foamy head, big, over a cloudy apricot appearance. Boasts a banana, musty fruit, bready dough scent. Lighter medium body with a silky texture that ends with a fizz. The taste was fronted with fruit notes, apricot and peach, progressed to a bready doughness, some potent spice, sort of a nutmeg, and a burn on the finish. Delicious!

750ml bottle. Light apricot colour with lashings of fluffy white foam. Lots of fruit in the aroma with peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots all coming through. Full flavoured with a zesty spritzy mouthfeel and an alcohol burn on the palate. A very good beer.

Bottle. Golden with white head. Fizzy. Enticing aroma of coriander and spice. Flavour is distictly Belgian. Sweet malt with a dry hoppy finish. The hops are slightly uncharacteristic for an otherwise straight -up Belgian style beer. Very nice.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mzaar (442) - Varberg, SWEDEN - APR 26, 2012
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Neeskens (298) - SWEDEN - APR 21, 2012
Hazy golden with a large with head. Traditional Belgian flavors with yeast, subtitle spices and orange. It got a fairly sweet body, but still well balanced with a decent bitterness. Altogether a good Belgian style brew
