4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a pale golden color with a fairly substantial head. Retention is pretty good and there is little lacing. Smell is of mild spice and yeast with a hint of tropical fruit. The taste is similar to that of the aroma with the fruits and spice mixing very well to blend inot a nice smooth finish. This is a nice light brew that drinks very easily and a very solid Belgian-style offering form Brooklyn and is now one of my favorite brews from this company.

My wife hated it. I loved it. It’s got a caramely taste that I really like.

Croton Reservoir Tavern, NYC, bottle. Cloudy golden. Fizzy mouthfeel. Head goes poof. No lacing. Gassy. Not crazy about it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml corked brown bottle, poured into a Duvel Tulip glass. Appearance is a hazy goldenrod colored with a large airy white head, that reduced quickly leaving a little lacing. Aroma of lemon peels, pears and banana. Flavours of lemon peels, pears, banana and spices. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-light bodied, smooth bodied and lively carbonation. Overall a good brew, quite similar to Belgian Pale Strong Ales brewed in Belgium.

First time I’ve ever had one of the Brooklyn local series. Nice Belgian inspired strong ale. It could go head to head with most true Belgian ales. Crisp fruit epervecents. Superb!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Off-white medium minus head holding over hazy golden beer. Medium aroma intensity, malty and yeasty aromas with some sweet spice. Medium bodied, off-dry and faint bitter, well-carbonated, refreshing. Flavour intensity not loud but balanced. Alcohol warmth revealed but not bothersome, nice fruit and spices midpalate into a medium finish with the freshness holding. Very useful food beer.
