COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2011 Bottle. Poured a cloudy medium yellowish orange with a very large (2-3 finger) white frothy head that had great longevity and excellent lacing. The aroma was moderately heavy of grain malts, an earthy yeast and flowery hops with nice notes of citrus, banana and a bit of spice (coriander I believe). It tasted kind of sweet with a hint of citrus at first and then became a bit bitter and quite yeasty with a mild alcohol finish leaving a nice bold flavor lingering on the taste buds for a long while. Mouthfeel was right in the middle of light and medium in body and had a dry texture with a nice prickly carbonation. Overall a great Strong Ale with a medley of components coming together for one really fantastic tasting brew which does a nice job of concealing the high alcohol content.

From a 750 ml bottle, light golden brown, sightly hazy, aroma of caramel malts, coriander, light spice, sightly cloying alcohol and a long bitter finish.

Golden with a thick, active, meringue head and moderate lacing. Nose with lemon, spice, and butterscotch notes. Mildly-carbonated, smooth mouthfeel, followed by a lemony, yeasty, peppery, overripe banana, green grape, Satsuma finish. The high alcohol percentage is barely noticeable.

Yellow gold with a very light haze. huge fluffy head that seems to last. Aroma is mild citrus rind leaning toward orange with a mild spice on top (coriander?). Taste is dry white grape and pear and there is that spice again. Tastes like coriander, but feels like cinnamon? Nice beer.

Good scent. But gee what flavor. Strong and tough. I did not think about this ale. But good to drink anyway.

Bottle - Brown sugar and yeast. Light gold thin head. Effervescent banana, honey and Belgian yeast. Heavy on the fruit, nice if you like the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
