COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

I felt this was quite similar to local one, but it had a much smoother taste. It was more drinkable, one of my favorites.

Cloudy brown color with impressive head. Medium body. Aroma and taste are like a hopped up quad.

Bottle Very dark reddish brown, large thick tan head with good retention. Aroma of pumpernickel and rye bread, light spice. Taste has lots of toasted malt, burnt caramel, plenty of alcohol. Not bad.

Bottle. Poured a clear medium brown with an average sized frothy light brown head that did not have the greatest retention and had good lacing. The aroma was of a nutty dark bread malt, a mild leathery yeast and a very slight hint of hops with notes of citrus, honey and some spiciness. It tasted a little acidic and sweet with a mild dark roast undertone at first and then got very mildly bitter with a hint of citrus and a mild alcohol finish. Mouthfeel was light ot medium in body and oily in texture with a nice lively carbonation. Overall a nice brew but could have been a little more flavorful.

Bottle, Rehills, Ncl. One of the few beers with an aroma I would describe as ’beery’! Sweetness from the honey in both aroma and taste, with a good balance provided by the citrus peel and spices. Very flavoursome and moresih, with a beautiful claret appearance.

Aroma: yeast, fruity, dark fruit, honey, jam, dark sugar, alcohol. Appearance: Ruby colour, medium beige head. Flavour: Fruity, alcohol, again, jam, marmalade notes, low bitterness and a very warming finish. Mouthfeel: lively, but not too lively. Total: Good interpretation of the style.
