COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Pours dark reddish brown with a light head. Aroma is alcohol, plums and sweet malts. Flavor is mostly the same with some spices and more weight on the malts. Very nice.

750 ml bottle. Hazy reddish brown colour, thick and creamy tan head. Aroma of caramel malts, dried dark fruits and spices. The flavour is sweet, malty, with dark fruits, orange, a little alcohol warmth and a spicy and moderately hoppy finish.

750mL bottle. Poured deep garnety-brown with a creamy, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up jammy darker fruits, figs, and molasses, with higher notes of honey and earthy yeast.. orange zest shows as well as it approaches room temp.. really well presented. The flavor found honey and molasses at the core, with plenty of darker fruit surrounding.. dry white pepper and earthy yeast on the edges, with everything amplified by a little alcohol warmth.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied and well carbonated on the palate.. dried out as the drink progressed.. a little too much residual sugarage on the finish, but a little more time in the bottle may do the trick.. still excellent stuff.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Hazy reddish brown with a smalish, but firm and lacy head. Spicy and yeasty nose with orange peel and nutty-caramely maltiness. Flavor is slightly alcoholic, with strong orange peel spiciness and some grainy honey sweetness, with some hop bitterness, dried fruit and Belgian yeast. Medium body, slightly thin and alcoholic with fizzy CO2. Slightly too spicy and alcoholic, but ok. 5435

750 ml bottle. Rating #800.
Pours a hazy, dark reddish brown colour with a natural white, large and foamy head. Aroma of dark berries, grapefruit and of course Belgian yeast. Flavour of strong dark fruits, brown sugar, strong grapefruit and orange with some earthy notes as well. Full bodied with a sticky mouthfeel. Good carbonation. Warming alcohol finish. Aging will make this even better.

Reddish brown color with nice long lasting dense off-white/tan head. Very fragrant, sweet malt with aroma of plums, pears, peaches. Highly carbonated at first detracts from the flavor initially. Sharp spicy flavor, quite sharp actually. Malty sweetness is subdued due to carbonation. I’ll let this warm a bit as I think that will help. I was hoping this would smooth out but it’s still a bit rocky. Alcohol becomes apparent but that sharp spicy flavor persists. Body is a bit thinner than I expected. More than a casual sippin’ brew.

Dark brown, good frothy head. Aroma has not only roasted malt, but seems to have some citrus or light fruit to it. The taste is more roasted malt, but with that citrus oil twang. The finish is more dark flavor - but not quite chocolate or coffee. All around, a very good beer.
