COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Brown pour, aroma is doughy, fruity yeast, bit of orange zest and floral notes. Flavor is more orange zest with nice doughy malt and fruity yeast esters, rather one tone and a bit boring, but nice.

Bottle thanks to Jeremy. Pours a dark brown color with a off-white head. The aroma is sweet and yeasty. A rich fruity and yeasty flavor, some honey, dry fruity malts. Decent.

Bottle (Thanks Jeremy!): Pours a dark mahogany color with a light head. The nose is malty and full with dusty cloth and aged cherry notes. Yeasty and acidic with a vague thin mouthfeel and brief finish. A little lacking, maybe the honey fermented out too much but it doesn’t taste dry. Yeasty with light biscuity malts in the end. Hmmm.

Bottle split at a tasting. Thick, unfiltered brown-tan. Mellow orange peel and brown chocolate aroma. Soft, excellent effervescence. Sort of like a Belgian Dubbel, with the some added orange peel notes. A tad sweet, but true to style I suppose. Soft and mellow fruit tones. Excellent.

Pours dark brown with a slight hint of red. Aroma is sweet with plenty of dark fruit. Mouth feel is on the thick side, but has a good amount of carbonation. Flavor is very good with lots of fruit (cherry, raisin) balanced by a fair amount of alcohol. Nothing to see here for hop lovers. This is a fairly typical Belgian strong ale, but very good none-the-less.

From a bottle poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Strong malty flavor with a lingering finish.

Bottle. Subtle raisin aroma. Dark black with light amber, medium lasting head, nice lacing. Flavor is of malty with subtle raisin, orange and honey. well balanced but not as complex as I would like.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, lasting, light beige head, over a reddish amber (SRM 14) clear body.....nose is vanilla, citrus, dried cherry, bit of raisin, slight toffee.....taste is sweet dried cherry, bit of raisin....mouth feel is light, carbonation high. This is a light take on a Dark Belgian Strong. The aromas and flavors are all appropriate, just on the light side of this very complex and robust style. I would prefer less sugar and more malt in the recipe. BJCP 7/3/13/3/7
