3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jessop (85) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2011
Wow, I’m pleasantly surprised by this remarkable beer. Theres lots going on after the beer is poured. It produces a nice thick creamy foam that lasts with lovely lacing down the glass. The aromas are rich and typically belgian however the alcohol is well hidden. The flavour profile is complex, it tastes of figs, rich raisins, notes of bitter chocolate and some residual dextrin sweetness. Its quite a well balanced beer that finishes moreish and slightly dry....overall well done.

Much less taste then the Local 1, but a decent beer. The honey and sugar and very distinctive in the taste and the lively CO2 gives it a nice aroma.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cirrhosis (887) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 23, 2011
So much foam it wont stop bubbling. Brown body, tall faomy fluffy cap. Not much aroma, faint hints of yeast, sourness, I smell banana but i might be making that up. Taste is fuller, sweet, caramel, yeast, wheat, nice light spice. The body is a little thin and has a weird but workable vanilla flavour. Nuts show up in finish, weird lingering bitter. good brew I enjoy it but nothing overly special.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GlassBrass440 (29) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - DEC 20, 2011
Dank, earthy hops offset by sweet, caramel malts (likely special B). Yeast joins the aroma party fashionably late, but is a welcome addition that adds spice to the occasion. A dense head lingers to the bottom of the glass, leaving behind a thick lace to remind you of where you started. The color is dark ruby. Residual sweetness from the honey almost melds with the spicy yeast and earthy hops but is a bit short. A bit of toffee shyly hangs out in the background secretly wishing to meet up with chocolate, also timidly hanging in the corner on the other side of the room. The palate offers a medium-thick body with a bit of sticky sweetness and medium carbonation. While this is a very fine beer, the individual components don’t seem to have clicked in quite the same way as I’ve experienced from other Brooklyn Beers.

Bottle. Deep brownish amber pour. Dark fruits, plum, spice, hint of chocolate and toffee, and finishes with some spicy hops. Not bad.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nate (3026) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 4, 2011
From 750mL bottle. Mild caramel notes to this one, with a bit of chocolate and some dark cherry skins. Very mild hop notes with some honey and just a bit of orange peel or similar. Light alcohol vapors. Dark brown-amber hazy with thin off-white head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts and stays sweet and malty with nice alcohol warming, light plum and chocolate, mild citrus. Rich flavors to this one, very reminiscent of the Belgian produced ales. Some dry carbonic gaseousness at the finish with sweet and nutty bitter after.
