Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2016 Lecker auf jeden Fall. Aber was ist es denn nur? BSA, DAA oder einfach nur ein Dubbel Style SA? Wer weiss? Wer weiss? The Big Bottle von Martins Weindepot in Kiel, 12 Euroletten.

Huge, fine & dense cream-beige head, with lace over deep chestnut- coloured beer. Molasses, brown candi sugar, but also leafy, woody and spicy. Yeastesters. Chocolate, wood flavours. Caramel & candi sugar are there in the mouth - more even in the finish, but they do not dominate totally. Hint at spearmint - a bit like a milkchocolate version of After Eight. Medium bodied, slick, well-carbonated. Still less MF than the average Belgian-made strong ales. Aftertaste unveils the honey. A tad too sweet to my taste;

Seriously every bottle is slightly different but it’s very delicious. It pairs well with a fatty meal such as ribeye steak, marinated in crown and pineapple.

Opaque brown hue with minimal beige head. Robust malt, plum, caramel, dried berries, vanilla, and brown sugar aroma. Full bodied. Immense flavour consisting of the previously mentioned aromatic notes as well as black liquorice and a dark candied fruit finish. Excellent.

Deep brown body, two finger of white head. Aroma of belgian ale, dried raisins, belgian yeast, candy sugar (maybe the honey from the recipie?), mid alcholic notes. Flavours of dried raisins, lots of malt complexity, alcohol, nice bitter backbone. Medium sweet warm finish, bitter and end dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
