COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

1 pint 7.4 fl oz. bottle. Big, sweet, heavy beer. Honey and citrus taste with thick palate. Had this to accompany a chicken tikka masala but it fairly overpowered the dish. Pretty much a meal in itself!

750ml bottle via trade. Pours dark brown in color with a lasting two-finger light tan head and good lacing. The aroma is very Belgian and yeasty, slightly funky, with dark fruits and spice. The flavor has caramel malt, prune and plum, and loads of Belgian yeast. Not sweet at all. Finishes a bit like Black Ops. Lively carbonation with medium-full body. Solid beer overall.

Pours a hazy dark brown with a large bubbly tan head. Aroma is candi sugar, belgian yeasts, spices, orange peel, honey, dark fruits, esthers. Flavor is candi sugar, belgian yeasts, caramel, spices, orange peel, honey, dark fruits. The carbonation is prickly and the fruitiness comes out in the co2 bubbles along with a touch of candi sugar and citrus peel bitterness in the finish. Good brew.

Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Chocolate, citrus, and roasted grain aroma and taste. Pretty good.

Not that complex. Gently frothy. Rich caramel color, decent head. Good caramel flavors like you’d get in the better English beers, but undistinguished.

had this one sitting in the cellar from last year. picked up at the wooden keg and consumed 6/18/10 dark mahogany brown with a lasting spongy tan head. it smells like dark candi sugar nearly burnt and without the sweetness... along with notes of toasty grain, florals, orange and a little yeast. flavors of malt, toasty grain, burnt sugar (again, without the sweet), orange, some cocoa, dark fruity richness, vanilla, brown sugar and some nutty coffee on the finish which lingers into the aftertaste. a bit of spice on the finish leads to a slight numbing sensation. medium bodied, airy and crisp. insanely easy to drink for 9%. 7/4/7/4/16/3.8

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2010 Bottle. Cork just about took my head off as I undid the cage. Belgian type aromas with dark fruits. Cola like brown with a tan head. Subtle sweetness taste followed by belgian yeast flavors. Medium mouthfeel. Tasty with a touch of alcohol notes.

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy mahogany with a very large beige head. Aroma and flavor of clove, some citrus, banana, cherries, some candy sugar. Not much funk; just some earthiness. Well balanced, very drinkable. A host of great flavors, but nothing really over the top for me.
