Pours up dark with a slightly brown foamy head. Aroma is a light citrus, barely any aroma. Flavor is not at all fitting a beer this dark. It has the same alcohol flavor of most Belgian strong ales, but a tiny bit of nuttiness to it.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CanIHave4Beers (2002) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - JUL 21, 2010
Bottle courtesy of ketchepillar! This bottle couldn’t wait to be opened, the cork flew out when the cage was loosened! This beer pours a deep reddish brown with a good head and a little lace. The aroma is floral and has notes of honey, spiciness, some booze, and a moderate level of sweetness. The flavor is nice and spicy with some rich raisin and fruity notes. The beer is dominantly dry with some yeastiness. Would be good with food. The palate is big and profoundly carbonated.

A damn fine beer, I would drink it until my liver gave way. Nothing offensive at all, just beer bliss. Much better than its Local 1 counterpart

Pours very dark amber with a beautiful thick head. Sweet aroma, fruit and spice lingering like a Christmas cookie. Honey peeks out in the flavor, mellow and sweet, with a yeasty and effervescent finish.

Bomber. Dirty brown pour with an offwhite head. Aroma of fruit and caramel malts. Taste is similar - complex with malt, dark fruit, yeast, etc. Not St. Bernardus Abt 12 level, but very good.
