Bottle: Poured a dark amber/brown with a nice head. The aroma was sweet malts and dark fruits. The flavor was sweet, honey, orange, floral, and plums. Overall, not as good as Local 1, but still tasty.

Darker pour with luscious tanned head. Totally belgian smelling with some slight funk and layered fruity spice and complexity. Clove banana and green apples round out the profile with some slight campagne sparkling tartness found somewhere towards the back. A very nice tour of flavors and a certainly enjoyable sip. well done

Don’t get to FL too often, but when I do I seek out Cigar City. To my dissapointment, can’t get it just a few miles to the south, so I got this as it’s not marketed in CO, Dark brown rich pour, with a latte head. Sweet aroma with dried fruits and a bit of metal, molassas and orange blossom honey - pretty complex! Malty and sweet, thick and richly carbonated, a real mouthful of a brew. Bitter linger. Wish I had a Cigar City!

0.75l - Poured a wonderful dark brown witha frothy tan head. Notes were candied sugar and hops. Palate was chocolate, cherries, honey and yeast. Felt more like a Quad.

Bottle from dkachur...thanks Dan! - Pours murky brown with a small tan head. Sweet cherries and dark fruit on the nose, with some light alcohol. Not bad for 9% though. Taste is sweet, with dark fruit, raisins, and a warm, boozy finish. It’s a bit watery, though the carbonation is dialed up just right. This didn’t blow me away, but was surprisingly drinkable and something I’d probably order if I saw it on the menu.

Bottle at DBF 2010.
Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, brown sugar, overripe fruit), moderate yeasty. Flavor heavy sweet, moderate bitter. Medium to full body, heavy carbonated, some alcohol felt.

Dark garnet-brown pour with a vivacious 2.5 finger off white head. The aroma is spicy dough with some heather honey with some roast and chocolate. The flavor is roasted barley and dough with hints of honey, yeasty bread, and a slightly astringent cereal grain. The palate is medium to thick for the style with a creamy, frothy mouthfeel and a clean crisp finish.

Dark brown pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma has dark malt notes of raisin and prune, along with a touch of citrus and the honey from the brewing process. Flavor has dark spice, dough, and honey as the predominant features. The secondary tier includes dark fruit and a touch of citrus. Palate is medium bodied, and the 9% is fairly palpable. Finish is fairly sweet. OK brew, but nothing special.
