Here in Brooklyn weíve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Pour a dark amber with one finger of light amber head which settles quickly. Aroma is earthy with noticeable amounts of honey. Starts sweet with a malty richness. Belgium yeast gives this beer a silky feel and the carbonation leaves a pleasant tingle on the tongue and pallet. Leaves with distinct notes of fresh honey.

750ml bottle at pleased to meet you, newcastle. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with reasonable head. Slightly beige head, huge at first and then disappears rapidly. Aroma is yeasty, very yeasty! Also bitter hops and some caramel. Good smooth taste, slight yeast and a dry finish. But herein lies my issue. Its a Belgian strong ale Iím drinking in the UK. I really enjoyed it but I donít feel it warrants the hefty price tag abroad. So I would only have this again in the UK. It was a "bargain" at £9 for the bottle. I have seen this for £15+ plus before. But anyway, I enjoyed it nonetheless but perhaps one to be enjoyed in america next time.

Nice Belgian strong ale/dubbel. Pretty sweet, with lots of brown sugar, some honey, and a little spice. A hint of unsweetened chocolate bitterness. Iím not getting much Belgian yeast. A solid offering, but I prefer Local 1.

Bottle at Piccadilly, BodÝ. Has a slightly hazy dark reddish brown colour with a medium, beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, cola, chocolate and is a little sweet. More dried fruit in a sweet flavour along with wood, leather and hints of smoke. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A rich and sweet Belgian strong ale with a nice balance.

Big Bottle in The Macc, Macclesfield. I do love it when Americanís do Belgian styles. Slightly murky chestnut with a thin beige head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, sugar, malts, plum, dark fruits. Wasnít as impressed with the flavour but I really enjoyed this beer overall. Totally overpriced but not the brewers fault, good beer.

75oml bottle. Violent cork. Dark brown pour with a head that recedes to about 1 cm and sticks. Smell is tangy, raspberries, dark fruits, black licorice. Flavor is a bludgeoning of dark fruits, figs, raisins, and some spice again with the licorice. Super-carbed. Not bad.
