COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Purchased at "Arnolds" in Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, I just started chatting to some school bus manufacturers from Utica, New York, and purchased a fourteen buck bottle of Brooklyn brew (which is actually mostly made in Utica) to share with them - Alright, this is a dark, sweet caramel smelling U, S. version of a Belgian monostary wit beer. It has a tan head of sweet smelling foam, and a complex, caramel taste with some fruity undertones.

pours a beautiful brown with thin, light head. Surprisingly light in body and well-balanced with pronounced flavors of coffee and toffee undertones. noticable hop finish. Overall, a fairly easy-drinking dark Belgian.

Poured from a cork and caged bottle a dark black with red highlights. Aromas of caramel, malt and candy sugar. Flavors match aroma and a decent big abv beer that is sessionable.

Bottle in a wine glass. Pours brown with a thick, beige head. Aroma strong of spicy yeast, caramel malts, and strong floral hops. Average texture and a good beer

Bottle to snifter. Pours a nice dark copper brown little hazy and shows a big soapy off white head that dissipates to a tight film. Aroma is bread and yeast with a nice sweetness and spices. Aroma is spicy and sweet with caramel roasted malt and candied sugars and a light bitterness. Palate is medium and fizzy with a dry finish. This one is much more enjoyable compared to the Local 1.

Bottle, shared with Parksy, Davey, and Jeff. Hazy dark brown with golden highlights, big bubbly head. Aroma is sweet, dark caramel and raisins, boozy undertones. Flavours of brown sugar, rum-raisin, caramel. High carbonation, slightly intrusive alcohol warmth at the back of the swallow. Not as complex as I’d hoped, and a little rough around the edges.

I’ve had this in the basement since 2009, someone talked me into opening this today, you know who you are ;) Pours a solid dark brown with a tightly bubbled off white head that dissipates rather quickly. The smell on this is just short of amazing. Citrus like orange and lemons on top of caramel and burnt sugars mixed with sweet fruity malts that remind me of sweet cherry, raisins, and apricots. Almost mead like honey aroma on this one. Taste is a bit on the sweet side but more caramel and burnt sugar than fruit on the palette. Still a bit of ethanol in the flavor even after 2 years; this seems to be a recurring issue for me and Brooklyn’s bigger beers. Medium to thin body, high level of carbonation with a sweet syrupy although somewhat bubbly mouthfeel. Decent brew that smells fantastic, but fails to deliver on taste. For me this is a bit over carbonated, which ruins the mouthfeel, and still somewhat hot for a brew that is only 9% abv.

Brown with a slight red hue and a big, creamy beige head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple and other sweet fruit, spice, cake, caramel and yeast. The taste is yeasty and moderately sweet with a solid bitterness and noticeable but not too heavy alcohol. Medium bodied, average carbonation, slightly dry. Good stuff, not too sweet, not too yeasty.
