Rating #650. Bomber, shared. Pours a hazy brown with a tan head that leaves noticeable lace. Aroma is yeast, spice, slight wood, grain, floral, citrus, and honey detectable. Taste is much lighter than you’d expect from a beer this color, with malt and chocolate notes up front dissolving into a lighter fruit, cittrus, clove, and honey characteristic at the end. Alcohol was not evident, even upon warming. Well-done beer, and shout-out to the cashier at the beer store who told me this was an imperial white.

20090309 750ml bottle from RB Spirits. Hazed medium brown with medium sized, manageable tan head that sheets lace. Attractive beer. Aroma is bright and fresh with mild yeast spiciness, birch wood, toasted grain, and definite floral notes. I don’t detect any citrus on the nose. Body is airy and light up front and across the middle, but it does not lack in backbone or malt presence. I would not have guessed from the body or flavor that this was nine percent, it comes across as a slightly sturdy dubbel. Flavors emerge with temp to include some citrus, clove, and fresh bready malts. At first this beer wasn’t really doing much for me, but I am appreciating it more throughout the bottle to the degree that I may just buy a few more. The price is right at under eight bucks.

Flavor is lots of malt, honey, some hops, and again, honey. Finishes with malt, hops, and honey. Enjoyable and very drinkable.

Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours deep amber with bubbly tan head. The aroma is a bit mild with apricots, raisins, bright red cherries, a bit of apple and spice. Pretty nice. The taste begins with a pulse of raisins and prunes and then moves toward mild even spices and some sugar candi sweetness. The flavors seem a bit on the bright side at this time.

A solid brew from Brooklyn Brewery. Pours dark brown with a decent sized tan head. Aroma is sweet with citrus - mainly orange, honey, and coriander or clove. Taste is fairly sweet as well with some spice. Just realized I never rated Brooklyn 1 even though I know I have had it.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 SHIG (2703) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAR 6, 2009
Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is sweet with fruit, malt, and honey. Taste is sweet fruit and malt, yet has a honey and spice hint in the finish that keeps it from being a sugary mess.
