Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Brown body, clean. Brown malts, bready, spice, dark sweetness. American yeast but not dull at all. Not extreme but we’ll made. Perhaps a bit too much co2 in the nose. Looks and drinks great though. Well developed! (Bottle from Saveur Bière)

Pours a dark chestnut, almost a cola brown, with a thick and frothy buff head that pillows after a couple minutes. Aroma has roast malt, caramel, woody, and subtle honey tones. Flavor starts with toasty malt and then cues caramel, nutty, earthy, and shy honey notes to add to the sonata. Firm texture is smooth, yet fairly tingly, so it goes down well, leaving a caramel and earthy finish. Support your local!

Bottle, 750mL. Home. A dark brown beer with a big creamy beige head. Great retention head and lacing. Intense fruity aroma (grape, blackberry, blackcurrant), herbs, caramel, spices, roast, smoke, coffee. Medium sweet, light to medium herbal bitter. Medium body, silky texture, good carbonation, sweet caramel finish, notes of coffee. Overall, beautiful, delicious aroma (dark fruits and coffee...), good taste and palate balance. A bit more boldness and depth and that beer could be a Top !

From the corked, caged 750 ml. bottle. Deep amber color and ruby red highlights. Aroma tends to lean toward the grape and wine-like fruitiness more than the Belgian malts and Belgian sugar, given its style. The taste has an appealing toasted pale malt note but it also has an abundance of dark fruits akin to grape.

Bottle from strait and narrow, Lincoln. Dark brown ale with bubbly off white head. Aroma is molasses and toffee with sweet dry fruit. Taste is sweet with not much indication of the strength. Quite prickly carbonation and a medium body. I prefer the no. 1.

Robe brune opaque, quelques reflets rouges.

Tasted from a bottle at Horeca Expo Ghent. Belgian-inspired strong beer with light beige, stable, moussy head and dark wine red colour, misty. Pleasant aroma of figs, banana, port wine, caramel, cinnamon, overripe plums and pears, citrus peel. Sweet fruity, thick and rich taste, banana, marzipan, chocolate and caramel, citrus touch, retronasal spiciness (cinnamon), fluffy and full mouthfeel, yeasty, medium long finish with peppery hops and some warming alcohol. Very well balanced and excellent.
