Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Pours a deep amber color with an off white head leaving moderate lacing. Aroma of currants, yeast and a slight hoppiness. Floral almost fruity flavor up front with notes of the Belgian yeast. Very easy drinking Belgian string ale, abv is misleading as you wouldn’t know it was over 7%.

Pours a dark brown with a very foamy off-white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast and fruit. Flavor is sweet Belgian yeast and fruit, with an alcohol bite at the finish. Quite good.

Bottle. Nice dark cloudy amber Body with Lasting tan head. Aroma was fruity with dried fruits , cherries and some caramel. Taste was also fruity with yeast and malt. Aftertaste was well balanced between sweetness, bitterness and also some dryness. Nice one.

750ml bottle, pours deep red / brown with a light head. Aromas of caramel, cherries and dark fruit crumble, full bodied and finish is fruity, sweet with a little bittering balance and dryness. Nice Belgian strong.

Good but I was expecting a little more. Bready and grainy malt aroma. Almost like a Dubbel. Murky brown color with a medium head. Weighty palate with fullness and smooth. Flavors were very malty with a hint of Belgian yeast. This character became more pronounced as it warmed. One glass at a time is enough.

Brunröd/röd med stort ljusbrunt skum. Doftar karamellmalt och jäst! Smakar mycket karamellmalt och belgiskt med lite smak av alkohol!

Bottle. Dark amber-brown with a large, frothy off-white head. Aroma is caramel, hoppy, spicy. Flavour is sweet caramel, yeasty, spicy, overripe fruits. Raisins. Probably a little over carbonated. Nice though.

UXO (822) - CANADA - JUL 1, 2014
Pours a somewhat murky medium brown with a fat fluffy tan head, great retention, and heavy, sticky lacing. Nose is mild, dark sweet malt, faintly spicy, and very little hops. Taste is honey-like sweetness, dark fruit (raisins and cherries), chocolate, and slight spiciness on a sweet dark malt base. Medium bodied, with a smooth and mellow texture and moderate sustained carbonation with a mildly bitter finish and mild warming. Dark and sweet, very reminiscent of a Belgian Dubbel like Chimay Red, but with more pronounced warming. Almost as good as a Chimay Red, in fact, with perhaps just slightly less complexity and depth of flavour. Certainly the nose could stand to be more pronounced, though the flavour does go a long way to making up for that.
