COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Pours very very very dark brown from bottle with massive amounts of khaki head. Big aroma of Belgian types bakers spices with a bit of orange. I also get a fair amount of alcohol as well. Taste has a bit of molasses or brown sugar thing to it. Clean fInisher.

I’m new to craft beer and this caught my eye. I had a reason to celebrate and Local 2 was the choice. Chilled bottle, poured thick, dark and cloudy with thick cream colored head and lots of lace. As you bring the glass up for a sip you smell honey and malt. Take a sip and you first get a malty sweetness followed by a mild hoppy bitterness. To finish it off a hint of citrus. Much more than I was excepting from Brooklyn Brewery.. Good times ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

7/15/11. 750mL bottle. Slightly cloudy deep red, almost brown, pour with a small fluffy tan head that sticks and laces plenty. Light, fruity, dry aroma of champagne, yeast, white grapes, and flowers. Sweeter flavor up front with dark fruits, a bigger honey presence, a touch of brown sugar and grapes, a slight hint of lemon peel, and a lingering dry finish. Not bad!

Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors- 750 ml cage corked bottle. Pours a very dark copper/brown with a sticky off-white head that leaves a nice ring of lacing. Aroma is sweet with some nutty undertones, a hint of cherries. Flavor is pleasantly sweet with some caramel notes, a wee bit of chocolate, some mild hints of molasses, a smidgen of sweet honey and some candied sugar notes. Mouthfeel has a nice spritziness to it that makes this much more drinkable in the summer heat. Always passed this by as I wasn’t sure if I had had both the 1 and the 2 - glad I grabbed it.

Corked bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Dark brown color; big but frothy head. The aroma is yeasty, dusty, with caramel, some vegetables; vulgar. The excessive carbonation spoils the mouthfeel; quite good caramel and mild chocolate flavor; some Belgian yeast action; moderate residual sweetness; correct bitterness. Ordinary.
