COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Bottle From Jungle Jims. Poured clear brown color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet spicy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with another of the top active bottled beers for style.

Appearance: dark brown with cherry-red highlights and a thick, creamy tan head. Aroma: caramel, vanilla, yeasty spice, with dark fruits in light syrup. Taste: dark brown sugar, caramel, graham cracker, cherries, a hint of citrus, chocolate, clove, candi sugar, and plums. Finish: sweet, smooth, and surprisingly light. Notes: Looked and smelled like a dubbel, tasted sweet but not too much so, and the palate was surprisingly easy drinking for a 9% abv beer. It’s alchemy in a bottle.

The Brooklyn Local 2 is a great American refermented ale that resembles some dark Belgian dubbels. The beer is a dark ruby amber with a large foamy white head that releases a sweet and tangy tangerine aroma. The first sip reveals a lime bite that punches through with a rich and creamy malt body that carries a yeast, caramel, and honey sweetness. It finishes slightly salty and dry in a way makes you want another sip.

God fyldig ettersmak. (Den Gode Nabo, 28.04.13)

Pours dark brown, tan head. Crisp and smoother than expected for a 9%. Seemed a bit high in carbonation and more bitter than others in this style, but still excellent. I recommend serving around 55 and after breathing for a while so the bubbles dont interfere with the flavor. It got much better on the third glass after warming and breathing.

Bottle - Brown sugar and some dark fruits along with the some yeast in the nose. Very foamy but settles nicely to a dark brown with a thin head. Brown sugar, dark fruits and a bit of spice. A really nice Belgian strong.

0,75 l bottle, shared with buddies, BierDeLuxe online store.
Pours a dark orange-brown with significant haze, creamy tan head and lace. Aroma of malts and caramel, some belgian yeasts. Taste opens with malts, caramel, after a while the hops and yeast arrives, dry finish. High alcohol taste, too much sweetness for me. The No.1 was better;-)
